This weekend I measured the useable length on three CVK carb needles. The needles are the Thruxton (NBZT), the TBS (aka Thunderbird Sport)(N3RF) and the Dynojet needle. This particular Dynojet needle has 6 clip positions.
When I say the "useable length" I am referring to the length of the needle from the tip (pointy end) to the bottom side (needle side) of the cap.
The Thruxton needle "useable length" measures 2.154" The TBS needle "useable length" measures 2.208" The Dynojet needle in the top most clip position "useable length" measures 2.275"
The Thruxton needle is the thickest (main part) of the three, then the TBS followed by the Dynojet. Note here - taper is important! I will need to measure taper and post in the future.
Also a note about shims - I have found shims come in various thickness, ranging from .018" to .023". If you are using multiple of shims, you may find these variances add up.
