Got my 1972 Bonneville T120RV all loaded up, tent, sleeping bag, etc. and ready for the Annual British in the Blue Ridge rally up in Hiawassee Georgia. This is the 2nd year I have attended with the bike, and am very much looking forward to good friends I have made, and time with the community these old bikes offer. They are an "older" group of enthusiasts that appreciate these old machines, and love riding them as well. We just completed the annual BritBike.com 3 state ride out of Blowing Rock, NC which entailed a 214 mile loop through 3 states with 40 other vintage Nortons, BMW's, BSA's, and Triumph's.
I'll be leaving Hiram (Atlanta) Thursday early evening for the 2 or so hour ride to Hiawassee, where we already have a large area staked off for plenty of tent camping. Sure, I could do it on my America, but what fun is that?
Anyone interested can find us in the roped off area that says "BritBike.com"....$40.00 for the weekend (Thursday thru Sunday)...swimming pool, bath house, and a bike show and games on Saturday with designated rides as well...Should be a tremendous turn out.....
So if you see a '72 Bonny loaded to the gills headed through the Dahlonega/Dawsonville area Thursday night, that'll be me!!! CFW Cant Frikkin Wait!

I'll be there myself, gonna ride down on Friday, will only be spending the night and enjoying Sat's festivities. I'll be riding my T-Bird, the America has some carb issues at the moment; I've got a Bonneville basket case that might make it in a few years. Been to the rally a couple times and its always SOOOO GREAT--amazing bikes, beautiful scenery, and nice people to boot...maybe I'll see ya there!!

Arrived Thursday night at dusk and welcomed by my fellow BritBike.com friends. They had a massive tarp set up that would have amazed the most seasoned campers. We boiled 25 pounds of peanuts, which we shared with whoever had the hankerin, and had some spectacular rides. Went on a "dualsport" ride on my '72 Bonneville that was absolutely wonderful. I rode through 2 really large creeks, and explored a waterfall deep in the woods that was only accesible by very old gravel roads. Lots of pics at BritBike.com "rallys and events"...and no, I did'nt win the "Rally Bike" again this year, a 1971 TR6 (dangit)....
My old Bonneville ran perfect the entire 400 or so miles I put on it...first kick everytime! Can't wait till next year!!!
