 Pipes Rechromed?

Any one ever done this? Came into a set of pipes that have some deep finish issues more than likely from angle dragging. Kinda wondering if it'd be worth it to have them refinished.

Just make sure you're sitting down when they give you the quote!  But get a quote anyway... can't hurt.

When I enquired about having the pipes on my Speedmaster rechromed the guy at our local shop said that he had tried it before and couldn't do it.
He told me they were made from some blend of stainless and had to be done at a speciality platers.
After that I didn't bother.

Not really my style but maybe I could find someone that wants them for that purpose. Have seen unfinished Specialty Spares on eBay for quite a bit more than I paid for these. Thanks for the idea.

$35-$40 per foot quoted from one place. 6.5 feet. About $230-$260. Could be worse.
