hi speedo drive overheated , took it apart and removed grease, and out came a thin metal ring , does the speedo drive have a rubber seal? and i can see the worm drive and ring on the inside ? is this just covered in grease or a metal shim and rubber seal , i have seen one on ebay and it showed the gearing on the inside, its working fine but want to know thanks kevin

Make sure that the washer with the ears on it to drive the speedo drive is still there. When mine failed that drive washer was destroyed. It should have tabs with a 90º bend on them to engage the drive and inner tabs that engage the wheel.
