http://www.british-customs.com/triumph-motorcycle-teardrop-style-mirrors-drilled-stem.html

Does anybody have these on their bike? Could you post a pic so I can see how high they rise above the bars. I like the looks but don't want the Mickey mouse ears look. I have large teardrops from British customs now but have a hard time seeing over my hulking shoulders-haha.

I've thought of mirror extensions-but don't know if that would help. Thoughts? Comments? Etc?

Thanks
Brett

I have the oval ones.... They dont rise anywhere near as much as the oem. Search for my bike in the members rides....plenty of pics there.

Thank you Z. They look like they will be more functional. I kept twisting to see what's about to hit me from behind.

I wish mine were a little further out to the ends. I don't get to use all my mirror cause my shoulders/arms get in the way... but Im a big guy (300#).

I'm not big, so I can only imagine what the mirrors I have now would be like on your bike!! Thanks for the help. I think I will go with these ones then.

Yeah , I have a set of those on Lola . They look great and the reflective optics are good . However , the left one vibrates enough to make where I've been a blur .

Sorta like college .

Wade, do you think it's just a tightening issue with the left side? Why only the left one?

I have no idea . My old chrome Mickeys could reflect images that I could read backwards . No , I'm not cixelsid . The shaft of the mirrors are substantial enuff , I don't get it . I just stick my thumb on the glass to subdue the oscillations so I can read signs backwards .

Aesthetics trump function sometimes , I 'spose .

Funny I was thinking function over form in my case. Love the look Of my current mirrors but I already know my shoulder is there

This is becoming a biological lecture...function determines form and form determines function. Very Darwinian!

even when it's blurry, I always know when this is in my mirrors

Left side mirrors usually do vibrate slightly more than do those mounted on the right side of the handlebars, and on most motorcycles.

The answer lies in the fact that the throttle mechanism on the right hand-grip adds just enough of a little extra weight so that it helps steady the mirror on that side of the handlebars.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have the teardrop ones and will try to post a pic. I like them but they do sit a little lower than the OEM. This means I don't get as clear a view behind me. Like Z said, my arms and shoulder get in the way (although I'm not as chunky!!)
I don't notice a vibration issue.
I do like them.

I chose to go with the solid stems versus the "drilled holes" option. Hopefully, this pic will help answer your questions:

Ignore the fat guy clogging up the picture...

Thanks for the picture Steve. That answers my question. I wanted to make sure they didn't rise way up.

Dwight-thanks for the vibration answer. Makes sense now why my left one is always the first to work itself loose.
