We had this discussion with our beloved TBA and TBS's a little while ago. It would appear most are assembled there but the parts are made and "quality checked" at hinkley. If that makes you feel better. I had a SPIII and it was wicked fast and a ton of fun in the twisties. Honda and yamaha are made in Japan and that was once considered junk. and I'd be hard pressed to beat an R1 with my triple. It's a global market. And as Tommy Boy said "a guarantee is only as good as the name on the box...I could take a **** in a box and right guarantee on the side if I makes you feel better."

Well, even if cost of production forces assembly over there , it is still a Triumph.......Just like the Harley's made in China are still Harley's I guess.

Before telling someone they are full of sh!t. You should first make sure that they had just eaten a large meal.

The Speed Triple is built and assembled in the U.K. After 2005, the Speedmasters, Americas, Bonnevilles and other 865cc parallel twin bikes are built in the U.K, but are assembled in Thailand. But, they are still genuine Brit bikes. Brit designed, engineered and Brit quality standards at all the plants.

I know this doesn't further the conversation much but who the F cares? Nationalistic BS doesn't make it less of a bike. This kind of thing is usually put out there by riders of a certain American V-twin but they live in glass houses due to all them thar furiner parts in their bikes. Now pardon me while I go watch my high quality American made television with my high quality American made DVD player. Oh, wait...

All triples are still completely manufacture in Britain, as is the Thunderbird. As of 2005 all twins built for other than UK and EU were built in Thailand. I believe as of 2007 with the opening of a second Thailand plant all twins are produced in Thailand. According to some quality actually improved. I believe the same thing happened when all the chroming was moved there in 04.

Place your nose just above the cam cover. If it smells like rice then theres your answer. Mine smells like beef and potatoes.

Give your pipes a quick polish with Brasso and experience the addictive aromatics given off as your exhaust heats up. What a high for a chromoholic.

I don't know how its more efficient to ship it to another place halfway round the world for partial assembly. Then ship to the dealership for the final finished assembly.

A easier method is to look at the 11th digit in the VIN#, J is made in England, T is made in Thailand.

While it may seem strange it is in fact less expensive. Happens every day in almost all manufacturing these days.
