Many I'm just a needy little sh!t lately.
So Zdenko solved all my electrical problems from the other thread. Put on the tank, go to fire it up...
No start. Crank crank crank. Not even TRYING to "catch." Choke open, choke closed, choke partway open. Can see fuel in the filter, fuel in the bowls. Plug wires are (fairly) new. Started to run the battery down, hooked up the jump pack. Hooked up the old CDI (have a procom mounted up now-brand new).
What do I try first? How do I test for spark besides the ol' screwdriver in the plug wire trick? I suppose I could've flooded it but I haven't been cranking on the throttle (much ) at all.

Just rode around the neighborhood. I must've flooded it afterall. Let it sit for about 45 minutes. Fired right up. Then it died again. Crank crank crank. A couple start-quit cycles. Then I turned on the petcock. DOH! If that isn't an FNG move I don't know what is. Runs like a bat out of hell on position 5 of the procom. Just have to make a spacer for the battery (it's thinner than stock) so it doesn't flop around and put on the saddlebags and luggage rack and I'm ready to hit the road. But I'll probably also do an oil change and I might put on a couple extra bits, like the oil pressure gauge and such. EDIT: Oh yeah, I ALMOST forgot my not-so-shiny but very new Specialty Spares short black canons.

My 03 America also seems to love map #5......it does not like to start with the choke pulled out though.....to start it cold I just hit the starter button with no choke and as soon as it fires, I pull the choke on.....
