HJC half helmet (no idea the model) in daytime good weather. HJC full face with the clear visor screen, vents open, for night or inclement weather (or long trips, since you never know what the weather is going to be).
Every set of goggles/glasses I have had just seems to obscure my vision at night, which is why I wear the full at night.

Have you ever tried getting some safety glasses from the weldig supply. That's what I use and I have no visual problems at all with them. Their cheap too, like twelve bucks a pop.

I haven't tried that. I have some pretty nice ones that darken in the sun, have padding - but look like glasses, blah blah - but at night, I don't know - just hard for me to see with them. I'll check out some of the other options.

Just bought a Rockhard American Classic and love it. Added a pair of goggle for the mad bomber look. The helmet is small, light and surprising quiet. Very comfortable. For longer trips I wear a Vega modular.

I went with flat black. Went back and forth between that and the silver flake. My Vega is white so the flat black won the coin toss.

I got the flat black also, I was just wondering if you had got a colored metal flake. Curious of whether the real thing was as great as the pics.

Just bought a HJC CL-16 last week. The shape fits my head well and wind noise is reduced over my previous helmet. Ken

A full-face, Z1R ZRP-1 (aka Strike). This is the helmet that won Motorcyclist's "Blowing the Lid Off" comparison a couple years ago. It transmitted the lowest #of G's to the head. And it sells for less than $100. Can't beat it.

I had a hard time finding a helmet that fit my head shape (roundish rather than ovalish). Finally found one when was in the UK a couple of years ago. Schuberth C3. Very light, very quiet (especially for a flip front), and very well ventilated. Also very expensive. Ended up ordering one from Germany (Schuberth was not selling in the US at that point). They are now sold in the US but the US Schuberth will not service an European helmet so when the chin curtain holders broke had to send to the dealer in Germany to get fixed. Was not a good experience but has held up since quite nicely. Worst part of the whole thing is that it is grossly expensive, even for a very good helmet. But am old and brittle and don't bounce as well as I used to so just gritted my teeth and bought it. If I hadn't would have probably wasted the money on cigars and scotch.
I tried a schuberth c3 in the deler the other day. It really did block a lot of sound standing in the shop. Probably because of the way the chin padding completely blocks the air when it's lowered.

Just got a shark evoline. I was wearing my open face the other day when I was hit by a storm. I had to stop as the pain from the rain was terrible and it was hard to breathe let alone see. Anyway, so far it is great. Open face mostly but full when needed

Got me a new one Z1R 3/4 shell white. I took it out for a 100 mile turn around today. Can't wait to put my stickers on it.

It's a Nolan N43 Trilogy, Soren. That chinbar removes to make it a 3/4 style helmet. http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/sport...&+metallicsI've also been interested in purchasing one for a while now too. Well, this one or maybe the Bell Revolver, which was also earlier discussed in this thread.

Although I am a convert to wearing a helmet. I haven't made the jump to a full face yet. I am enjoying my 3/4 Z1R right now because I can take the visor off and ride with my bobster red barons. I like riding with a helmet now better than with out.

I just got the HJC IS-MAX BT (modular, pre cut for chatterbox bluetooth) - in matte black. So far I'm pretty happy with it. (hjc's fit my bulbous head fairly well). I installed chatterbox as well - mostly for music and the occasional phone call. That has worked well also.
I've definitely been interested in the new nolan modulars, though. Definitely like to hear what you think of it.

Flat black Vega XTS naked. No frill, vents, or visors. I have a huge melon and this is one half helmet that doesn't make me look like one of the guys who launch the laser on the Deathstar.
I like this particular model because it is a DOT helmet (which is required on military bases) and it won't try to choke you on the highway.

Had pretty good luck with a couple of HJCs...they fit my big noggin nicely. Ordered a new CL-16 to replace my 5 yo fullface. Nice hat but seems a bit snugger than the older models. Maybe my head's just getting fatter.

I wear the Real G-Force helmet As far as I know, it's the only DOT certified helmet made in Thailand. It goes for around $70. It's very comfortable, although I wish it was better ventilated especially for this type of weather, where it gets really hot.

I've been wearing SHOEI RF-1000's, had two and really like the fit, features and quiet ride. Makes me want to wear it, and feel bullet proof when I do. Lost a base plate screw for the shield fixing, and nobody seems to want to sell me parts for it anymore. So I just bought a new RF-1100. One ride, so far, and she's just as good.

Yep.
And acid water from wet roads in the eyes.
Bird that hurt like hell and almost knocked me off the bike. (though the impact would have had just as much "punch" even if it hit a face shield)
Puke from a passenger in the car in front of me. (following too close at speed).
And BUGS in the teeth! (Did I mention bugs in the teeth!?)

Well I did T-bone a Rambler back in '71. Don't remember what I had on my noggin (probably Bell), but I left a nice sized dent in the roof of that wagon - before I bounced right back into the saddle.
That skull rattler could explain a lot....
