"TriumphRAT" and chosen our RAT club to ride with in June. This is a one out of ten nation wide pick. Triumph RAT officials will be riding with us! Come join us for the Mason-Dixon Motorcycle Run to the mountains of Maryland on June 25, 2006. We will be leaving Pete's Cycle on Belair Rd. at 9:00 a.m. for a ride to the Catoctin Mountains, Antietam Battlefield, and Harper's Ferry West VA. This ride is open to ALL riders and ALL bikes. This is not an escorted ride. Just ride as you like. Ride alone or bring a group to ride with. It doesn't matter. Stop by Pete's early to register (free) and grab a donut and coffee. For more information or directions to Pete's you can call John at Pete's on 410-663-8556 or email me at ezrider3@verizon.netHope to see a lot of bikes turn out for this ride! Should be a lot of fun and a great ride! Bring your camera

Jeff,
I’ll probably hook up that morning with the other guys at our usual meeting place (Clinton Cycles) for the ride up to Baltimore. Are we meeting you at Petes?

Hey guys, I'll post the route as soon as I can! We are going to set up and ride the route around the end of this month. As soon as I get the details I'll pass it along.

torque says signup is 8:30, ride out 9 sharp. that's what i plan on doing, weather permitting. i believe the ride will go on, rain or shine. i doubt they do anything other than "day of ride" registration. i think it'd be rather pointless to have a bunch of folks pre-register for a ride, have it rain, and only 5 or 6 show up.

Jeff,
I’ll get the guy’s rolling by 7:30. That should get us up to Pete’s around 8:30ish…

Right now there's only 3 of us commited, so rolling by 7:30 shouldn't be a problem. Hey I'm telling them the train pulls out at 7:30, if your late we will see you at Pete's...

As of right now there is no register in advance. And as far as registering, it's really just to sign a waiver not holding Pete's responsible for anything. But there is coffee and doughnuts in the morning. You guys in Western Maryland, I will let you know where we could hook up once we ride the route. This is a everyone show up and ride not just Triumph. If you ride, then you welcome to join in !! If it's good weather, it should be a GREAT ride. I'll keep you all posted. Ride Safe

Fred, I just talked to Kasey friday and he was telling me about this ride. If the Doc says I can ride, I'm in. I'll meet with everyone at Petes. I have a sister living in Severna Park with a garage, I'll be staying at her place the night before.

Just don’t try to off-load any motorcycles between now and then and you’ll be ok…

I do not think my motorcycles will see a trailer again, do not need steel in both legs.

Thanks, I dont want to miss this one, its almost in my backyard. If you go, maybe a cut over south mountain from booneboro, or actually Rhororsville into burketsville and on to 340 or jefferson pike might be an option in the ride. Its nice around there and the roads are twists and turns.I think you go past a monument to journalists , cant think of the name right now, or the road that goes over the mountain at that point but any maryland map will show it.ssjones is a member and lives around that area. You out there ss

OK guys. Here's the proposed route that is subject to change after we ride it this Sunday. Leave Pete cycles 9:00 a.m. Belair Rd RT 1 to I 695,I695 to RT 26 (Liberty Rd)RT 26 to RT 550,RT 550 to RT 806 thru Thurmont to RT 15S to Catoctin Hollow Rd. to Catcotin Park(you can stop here for a break)Then after a few turns it will be RT 17 to RT 40 to RT 34 to Antetam National Park(another senic stop if you want). Then RT65 to RT 34 to Shepard's Town W. Va. Then RT34 to RT 480 then RT 230 Then RT230 to RT 340E to Hapers Ferry where there is another stop(last one). From there the return trip is RT 340 back to RT 70 and then you pick the way you want to go home. This is of course subject to change a little after we ride it Sunday. We will be looking for places to gas up and get a bite to eat also. Hope that's not too confusing. If it is just follow the bike in front LOL I'll keep you posted Ride Safe EZ

OK guys, just got back from the Triumph Maryland Ride to the mountains test ride. It's almost as I posted before but with SOME major changes. Destinations are all still the same. The route has changed some. It was a GREAT ride!! About 250 miles round trip. Everyone will be given directions at Pete's so everyone has their own copy. Remember this is a ride as you please ride. Go with a group or just ride by yourself. Remember it is NOT an escorted ride. We will not be doing a stop and wait after each traffic light. That would never work. Hope everyone can make it!
Just hope for some great weather and bring your cameras
