OK, not me, but a bud with a Legend. All was well on a ride today when his clutch lever pull started getting heavier until he just had no real purchase at all. Finally got to the point where the only thing he could do is force it into 2nd and limp home. Is this the typical way a clutch goes south?

That sounds like a problem with the rod that pushes the clutch discs apart rather than the clutch itself.
