My old cable snapped at the base, so i have ordered a new one. Mounted easily at the weel and the cable turns when i move forward. The problem i am having is getting the other end of the cabel to actuate the gear to turn the speedo. I cant seem to get the end seated correctly. The old cable was quite difficult to remove, but the new one slides in and out freely. Any idea on how to get the new cable end to actuate the speedo gear? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are getting the new cable in place but the speedo is still not working you may want to remove the front wheel and look at the condition of the drive and the ears on the washer that drive that.

Try the speedo end first - just twirl the opposite end around as you seat the cable , it should snick into gear in the speedo .

Just make sure it's in gear before you cinch down the cap - that would force it and it would be all bound up .
