My exhaust was starting to look old and rusting.
So I took it off and Brillopadded all the rust off and started wrapping.
I tried the stainless steel zip ties, but I don't like 'em.
I used hose clamps (jubilee clips) instead. I found I could
get it alot tighter, felt more secure. I used the beige 1"
wrap, needed 100' of it. I looked at pictures of the black
wrap, but it seemed to fade to gray. So I got 2 cans of
2000 degree black barbeque grill paint and painted it black.
I rode around with it beige colored for 5 days to cure it,
then did the paint. I also put a 1.25" freeze plug in the crossover pipe. Sounds great.
Deeper, and at low revs you can hear the pulses coming out side to side. I think it looks very cool, Terminator-like.

Unpainted:

And painted:

What do you guys (and gals) think?

One thing I've noticed: We just had the hardest rain of this year
(couldn't see across the street) and it didn't soak up any water.
When I started it up, the exhaust dried off in about 2 minutes.

Yeah, the painted wrap looks really good. If the paint fades in a couple of years you can always retouch on the cheap, so i guess its a total win!

Going for the 50's look...

It may not be possible to polish a turd, but you could always roll it in glitter

Looks good , you will have to give us a report every couple months...I wounder if the paint will start to crack and peel up and off after some time?? Cause if it starts to flake only after a month or two that would drive me nuts...Not that you just couldn't repaint you can !! But yea I would like to know !!

I wanna know which will last longer painted wrapps or just plain black wraps ?? Wounder which fades first??

Thanks hope to hear from you again!!

Are we there YET? I gotta go pee!! 08 SpeedMASTER, Black and Red!

What kind of exhaust did you wrap there? I just put on cocktail shakers, a steal from a local member, and keep thinking wrapping the whole thing would look cool. Which BTW I stopped at my local dealer and the sales guy said "Hey man what kind of exhaust are you running? Those sound awesome!!" To stroke my ego a little-haha
