Ok, you folks with the pingles, do you have the round or octaganal one?
Did you have to expand the hole in the tank?
The reason I ask, is Matt had a round one that needed the dremel, mine is oct and did not.

Me:
Octaganal, no mods required to tank hole.

Have the round...had to file a bit to get the barrel thru the hole.

I am starting to worry about you cats.

My Pingel has six sides, not eight. Ya could say I have a hexagonal one. No file needed. No hole expansion required.

Good talk Moe. I wonder if Triumph changed there stock petcock, giving diffrent years diffrent size holes. Mine is a 2004 Speedmaster and it did need the file.

Hey Matt,

Triumph needed to do something with their stock petcock. It was a POS. Had my tank off for a valve adjustment and gas had pooled under the tank. The dealer didn't notice it when they adjusted 5 valves out of specs. Grr. Oops, don't want to denigrate this thread into a dealer rant.

Maybe the hole issue is just what Pat is trying to figure out. Yet it doesn't seem right that Triumph would retool for a tank due to a change in their 5 dollar petcock supplier. Seems more like Pingel has different specs for different models. A cross reference melee so to say. As we have round ones, eight sided ones, six sided ones, chrome ones, aluminIum ones, and hopefully no french (spit) ones.

Octagonal, no file. By-the-way Pat, my BA is going to a shop this Tuesday in Houston (weather permitting) for the Weisco Big Bore treatment. Hope all goes well.

You're right moe, I was just trying to see if it was one or the other style petcocks having troubles.
Doesn't appear to be any corelation at all, so nevermind.

HP,
Cool, keep us posted to the progress.
