Its a car.

That is sweet! What I wouldn't give for one of those to be sitting in my garage!

When I was a kid a was infatuated by the XKE and loved doing pencil sketches of it. THIS car is a perfect incarnation of my childhood memories!

Live to love, love to live.

I like it. Wish it was a real Jag instead of a Corvette kit.

I know the spot. Freemont Street in Las Vegas. Old Las Vegas. 4 Queens, Binions, the Fitz. Love that area...it's where you still get the cheap prime rib.

A real work of art!

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

According to the linked writeup on this neo-E-type here, Soren....

Quote:

The car is to be powered by a Jaguar XKR-sourced 5.0-liter supercharged V8. With a few choice tweaks, the Growler should close in on the 600-horsepower mark. Visualtech hopes that will lead to a 0-60 run under 4 seconds.

The Growler will have a composite body glued to a carbon fiber structure, with front and rear tube frames holding the running gear. Should you have the wherewithal to order a Growler, expect to pay nearly $700,000 if they make a series run, and closer to $1.4 million if they only make a few.

...the car isn't one of those aftermarket C6 Corvette re-bodied numbers, but will actually use mostly modern Jaguar parts in its construction.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Still isn't an E- type Jag though Dwight.

Although it does look the cat's whiskers, I'd still prefer a proper E-type.

I could sell it then and get a MK2 Jag instead.

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Yeah, I know what you're sayin' here, Graham.

For that $700,000+ Mr. Growler will apparently charge for each one of his cars(that is if they ever get made), one could afford about 5 or 6 real original E-types!

(...and OUT of those 5 or 6, at least ONE of those real original E-types might not overheat while you're drivin' it around and/or not have one or more of Mr. Lucas' usual electrical gremlins rear its ugly head, huh?!)

You could buy 70 Triumphs for that same money.

...or maybe open up a Triumph dealership or two, eh Chad?!

(...but then again, as we "all know", there already are enough Triumph dealerships located throughout this great country of ours, huh?!)

Either way the money would be better spent.

Yep! But then again, I suppose that all depends on one's disposable income bracket.

(...ya see, I'm thinkin' one Mr. Richard Branson, or instance, might view 700,000 clams as mere pocket change!)
