If I don't work the vintage event at Watkins Glen, I'll be at the rally again this year.

I went to that event in Watkins Glen a couple of years ago & it was great except for some pesky thunderstorms. The car show on the infield was cool & the racing was something to see.

**New for the 2011 season - Stony Brook now offers new "rustic" cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins. Offering protection from the elements, they sleep four, but have no electricity or water. Only $41.25 per night and no minimum stay required. Reservation and out-of-state resident fees also apply.**

there are 6 cabins one is already taking so there are 5 left
I am posting this info here first so you guys can get them if you want some time this weekend I will post this info on the site and the other triumph forums ..

must book them at this site...web page

or call 1-800-456-2267

map of where the cabins are web page 025,026,027 are in one loop together..073,074 are togther 126 is be its self

and 074 is already taken ..

STONY BROOK GROUP CAMP SITE
if you camp at the the group site this is the deals of deals it will cost you only $2.50 a night a person so if you stay 4 nights it will cost you 10 bucks you get hot showers flushing toilets ..it's a great place to end the day hang out by the camp fire ..kick back and have a few ..

Ed,

I could not tell from the map, but where are the cabins in relation to where we normally set up camp? Is it within stumbling distance? I'll be in my tent, but 40$ per night split 4 ways would be nice for those that want to be close, but don't like tenting.

when you look at the map the top is north the group camping area is just east of the parking lot across the stream with the symbol that show the hiker and say to trails...

when I talked with the park people they say the all cabin are very easy walking distance with the farthest..300 to 400 yards away...

they showed me a room last year and it looked good.. but I have not stayed there...but the price is right....Fast Eddy & bigjack stayed there last year ..I belive they scored it on a scale of 1 to 10 ....about 6or7....over all..I know logans inn web page is a much nicer place but will be about about 70 bucks a night but you can get that down with AAA and is much closer to the camp gounds ..and the gas staion right infront of logans inn is where we start all rides from..
I hope I was of some help and maybe some one any one who stay at Dansville In will post something about it..

So give me some history....... How many people attend? camp? Where do you ride?
The website http://noreast.webs.com/ is dead, so just want to see if its worth the trip.

I have done a few Rally's with my Suzuki SV group in the past down at the Dragon, and had some great times....

the http://noreast.webs.com/ is not dead works just fine so if can please tell what you mean by dead?????

well we never know how many will show up from year to year..it's been as small as 10,12 bikes to as big as 40,50 bikes..and is a very laid back rally.. as you can show up and do your own thing or go on the group rides.. right now the only group ride we have ..is going to the glen on sat for Vintage Grand Prix ..
or some time we have had a tec day stay in the camp and work on bikes and show off and talk about mods that can be done to the bikes.....
but there is lots of riding in the area ..and this year I was talking with pat "dinqua" who started the NorEast Rally and on friday talked about doing a memorial ride for a member who came every year...and has past on this year ..
more details to come on that ride..

most people camp..but a few do hotel it..

and at the end of the day we kick back set around the camp fire and have a few ...

IF you want to go to the Canuk side of the falls you MUST have a valid passport or "Enhanced License".
If you have never seen the falls it is a must see, and from the Canadian side for sure, NY side is a friggin ghetto.

I would suggest that when they ask you what Country you are from, please, don't say Kentucky!

Not to be a party pooper, but...

Used to be Canada wouldn't allow crossing to some folks with any old misdemeanors or felonies in their past. Reckless driving, excessive speed as a misdemeanor (like 25+ over), possession of marijuana, & DWIs / DUIs can and may fall into one of those categories. I've been told ancient misdemeanors, like the ones of teenage yore, can pop up as well.

I've heard a variety of explanations on the subject, but don't really know how that works. I've also heard about contacting Canadian officials to get pre-clearance, but don't know how that works either.

Just sayin...

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&xhr=t&a...=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=a6dd9527a3a501e9&biw=1440&bih=764

More partial info - The story goes that all speeding convictions in VA in recent years count as misdemeanors.

I'm not talking about "The sky is falling" and obviously this info doesn't pertain to everyone. I'd just hate to see anyone ride all day and get turned away is all.

all of the above is true....now I have crossed the into canada thousand of times with out any trouble even with people who have past DWI DUI and misdemeanors it will all be up to the border patrol at the post..

the last time we went over as group one member was asked to to pull over and go into customs "canada side" had a DWI many years ago he said yes ..the custom guards inside thats its ok your free to go.. it took all of 5 min's and he was back with the group..they did not make him fill out any forms or pay moneye..

now a little insite on this he did not act a "fool" he answerd all questions honest and with respect ..goes a long way

to be very honest I get more of a hassle trying to get back into the USA then canada has ever given me...

I have done it about 30 times this year....no trouble
