Although the winter doldrums are over, I'm not excited about commuting to work when the temps are in the 40's . The 40's use to be the coldest I'd ride, now it's been revised to the 50's. This morning's temp was upper 50's and more gear was needed for warmth. Geez! Is this due to getting older?

Last month I was riding in the 50s and it felt great. Then, for a couple days, it got up into the 70s. After that the 50s felt freezing.

I'm sure those of you up north would love to have 50 degree mornings. However, that hour long ride to work gets cold if you aren't dressed properly.

when i was a young man living in michigan, i used to ride all yr and yes sometimes it was a bit cold, i never let it bother me. i moved back home to fl. bout 20yr ago and decided 50f was where i draw the line then as i have gotten older and my friend arther settled in my neck i cant seem to handle 60f as the pain just gets to intense so i guess i will hold at 60 for now but someday i might have to settle for 70
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

They're the only ones in January walking around in shorts and teeshirts in Florda.

I reminded a friend of a night long ago when we rode 50 miles home from a bar with snow falling. "I don't even think we had helmets I added." "Helmets!" he said, "I don't think we had hats!"

Yeah, you figure you're growing soft, eh Eddie? Well me too, but my example is in another way. Today I test rode two XRs, both with kick start. I want electric start... I'm growing soft. Oh, and btw, it was friggin' cold today. I froze my unprotected face and neck during those rides. Yup, I'm growing soft too!!
Live to love, love to live.
