Wow! What a happy event. I count 7. White, brown and black - was there more than one dad?

Yes Richard 10 pups but only 7 survived.
Mindy is 3 years old (our third lab in 22 years) we mated her with a golden lab. Two visits , both dogs (b***ch & male) pedigree . The chocolate are quite rare.
Our first lab had 9 pups about 15 years ago and I think you forget the joys and pains of the whole thing. All good now the mother is happy as ever , the pups are noisy little wrigglers .

The father was almost white and one of the pups is almost pure white the other three abit more gold ... have to wait and see.
Ironically I posted on this site saying life is like a box of chocolates (Forest Gump) and great boogerly woogerlies look what the B*tch pops out.
It's OK I can say B!tch in this case.

Congratulations Rick.  Labs are great, so loyal and affectionate. I've got 2; one Black lab and a B. Lab/border collie mix.

Our 16 years old daughter has claimed the first born which is a chocolate female and named her Kinda ... as in Kinda Suprise. Not sure if you get these in the States they are a chocolate with a toy included in a plastic egg.
We will probably breed her in three years time that's the plan.
Having a Vet for a sister inlaw is always a help.

Don't think we have Kinda Surprise, but I like it! A vet in the family is very good. I know when I worked for one our expenses were so much less.

I musta slept thru genetics, but I woulda thought a black
female would have more black pups?????

Three didn't make it 2 black and 1 chocolate
Our vet sister inlaw lives 700 k away so was only a phone call away. The second pup when born was very bruised looking and took nearly two hours to come which was a worry.
I had slept out on the verandah for two nights with her because I didn't want her taking off and getting under my ute or somewhere else difficult. I went for a ride Sunday about 10 o'clock after stressing too much and needing to chill out.
I did about 150k and kept calling home to see what was happening , got a call and came home to find one born at 5.00 the last one came at 3.00 in the morn. The last 2 were dead ... I sat by her bed till 5 am  in case another one came but it was all over. Quite truamatic experience but in the wild without our interfearing possibly only 5 would have survived .
The black one was a male too how did you know but sorry it's been claimed , they only two days old and all but 2 have been spoken for , shows how popular labs are.

Hey Keith I got the Methlab e.mail with the 4 lab pic's sent to me and now I got your joke a week later.
Took Mindy to the vets today cost $83 and when I went out to the ute with the wife and the pups an old boss of mine comes over and offers me 2 weeks work ... Too easy aye ?
