Anyone used the blue stuff you pout inside of new headers to stop bluing and if so what results. I have my AI removed but the damage was done when the bike was new. Blue removal has not worked well enough so I have new headers and want to do this as a precaution. Just curious if anyone has any experience w/this stuff. Does it work? Does it gove off a nasty smell (if so how long), etc.
Thanks!

I kinda like the blue that has occured to mine. I think it adds personality to the ole girl. Some don't but someone will probably chime in with some idea that works.

take the new headers and clean them .wash them.. use Hi-Temp engine paint . color doesn't matter.
coat the insides very thickly .. two or three times.. and bake in the oven .this will make a barrier for the heat.and will keep the pipes from bluing out as the heat will pass the corners .. lasts a long ..long time.. but only effective on new .. undamaged headers... Enjoy !

What Jim says is true, that blue is a type of ceramic that does the same as the paint Jim mentions. I have done both on the old bikes and had marginal success with it. They used to sell pipes for the old bikes already ceramic coated inside. It does work.
