Has anyone run a 19" wheel on the front?

I am looking to put a 19" wheel/tire on the front of my speedmaster (yes I stole the idea from the 2011 model). I was wondering if it would fit under the mudguard? What would it do to the ride?

Thanks

I don't recall anyone going up one inch in size. They usually jump up to 21". But most of them remove the fender altogether. Depending on the tire size you might have to modify the fender bracket to increase clearance, just like when you put a 120/90 on a stock wheel.

I see you have a Speedmaster. Are you switching to spokes? If not, where are you getting a 19" wheel made? If spokes, are you going single disc or are you going to look for the ever elusive Thunderbird Sport wheel?

Already running spokes. Never liked the cast wheels.

If you find a 19" wheel please let us know. Although it seems like a small change in size I think it will add a lot to the bikes appearance.

The Bonneville & Bonneville T100 front wheel is a spoked 19" x 2.5

Just watch Ebay - that is what I did.

Does anyone know of a shop that would extend the mudguard bracket?

You could either purchase four 1" spacers as others have done or have someone weld a piece of 1" flat strap steel along the bottom of each "leg" of the bracket, then relocate the holes down an inch or so. That's what I did. I've since gone to a 130/70 tire and went back to a stock bracket, but I'm keeping the modded one just in case.

Also, some have cut the center or top of the bracket out which would give you enough clearance, but I like the idea (even if technically unnecessary as some will say) of having that steel bracket tying the fork legs together.

Hmmm Ok. But I could take the hub out of my 18" and use the spokes and rim from the Bonnie wheel?
