Very Nice. I like the red against the black engine. Look forward to the pics of both bikes together.

Congrats to your son! I like what they did to the forks on the new models, and the seat.

Thank you for the photos the bars do look a lot wider so how does it feel to ride and I really like the look of the risers a set could look real good on my Speedy cheers.

The bars don't seem much (if any) wider, though they are pulled back a bit more. I didn't measure anything, but between the risers and bars it seems like the seating position is more upright by a couple of inches.

Ok thank you for that info and by the way it's a great looking bike I seen the new America but yet to see the new Speedmaster cheers.

Other things I noticed:
1. The front tire (ME 880) is taller and slightly wider. 2. The handlebars are bent back closer to the center. 3. The chrome peg brackets have changed. 4. The seat is a bit wider and no longer has a "quick release." It now fastens with an Allen bolt at the rear. 5. The tach & speedo have black faces. 6. The speedo has a digital clock. 7. The rear exhaust hangers are a bit different, and are cushioned with large rubber washers. 8. The front mudguard is more rounded on the ends. 9. The pillion pegs have been moved and are welded to the frame. 10. The sidestand is black rather than chrome.
Of course there are obvious differences like the headlight, wheels, front brake, risers, forks, seat, turn signals, rear mudgear, and rear lights.
Oh, and the recommended oil is now Castrol.

Very Nice! Triumph keeps on keeping-on.
I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

FastEddy just pointed out something that I hadn't considered:
With the fork shrouds gone, this opens up the windshield options considerably.

that is the same tail light assembly they have been using on the bonnies since 2001.
If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

Funny how people's snapshots can make a bike look better than the professional marketing photos. Triumph's marketing left me cold on the new(ish) Speedy, but I have to agree, it looks really good in these photos. (Not that I wouldn't start changing things but that's just how I roll. )

You raised him right! Beautiful bike. My dealer doesn't have any of the 2011's in yet. Am looking forward to seeing the changes.

I was wrong about this. I measured the bars yesterday and the '11 bars are about 2" wider than the bars on my '09.

I was finally able to put a few miles on my son's bike recently, and here are a couple more differences I noticed:
1. The handlebars are about 2" wider than those on my '09. 2. The forward controls are not quite as far forward. A rough measurement shows that the rider footpegs are about 1-1/2" closer to the rider on the '11.
As previously noted, the seat is lower and positions the rider closer to the tank. This, coupled with the swept-back risers and closer footpegs makes the bike seem a little smaller (when riding). I think this position actually enhances control and handling.
If you're interested in seeing the bike, it should be at the SWTF next month.

I just saw one of these at the Pompano Beach Triumph store here in Florida. Absolutely Awesome, Congrats to your son! I love what they did with the risers and handlebars...very nice indeed.
