Hi All,
Looking for some advice on grips please. I have an 06 America bone stock right now. I'm looking for something along the lines of the Kuryakyn ISO grips, but in black. Looks like for their black ones to fit you'd have to modify the stock throttle sleeve, being a rookie that makes me nervous. Found the Avon MT grips as well, but I called them and they have no idea if it'd fit our bikes.
What are folks in this forum using? Anything out there that will just go right on without too much of a headache?
Appreciate any help.
Thanks, Brian

The only thing I can think of are the ones Airguy(Keith) used, however I can't think of the name of the company. They were pretty cool looking as I recall.Perhaps if you pm'd him he could help.I don't think he hangs aound here much any more because he upgraded to a Thunderbird.
Just an old Hippie and I don"t know what to do.

I have the Kury ISOs on mine and Karen's bikes and didn't have to modify anything. Just remember to use those end spacers to reduce play

At least he didn't "step up to a Harley"
Have seen the iso grips on a lot of our bikes, wasn't aware that anything extra was needed to make them fit.

I have SAC grips. Easy to install, and they feel good to the hands. I love them.

Do you know which ones fit our bikes? Triumph isn't listed on their website.

Yeah, I've got the plain black leather ones. Like 'em pretty well. They replaced the Kury Iso's.
And I think they're the ones listed for Hondas.

Speaking which - any recommendations for "throttle-lock" with "Kuri's"and stock controls??
I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

I bought a pair but never used them. They had a tooled patch sewn over the sleeve which made them rather fat. The tooling was mediocre at best.
That's supposed to be a dragon.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like some of those SAC grips. Hadn't stumbled across them yet. I did one of those online chat deals with Kuryakyn yesterday and they said their new metric catalog was coming at the end of March. Thinking I might just wait until then to see if they offer the black grips with the throttle sleeve. With the way the weather has been doubt I'll be able to get much seat time before then anyway.

I got the plain black leather ones, too. And, yes, the Honda grips will fit the America.

I was just looking at Kuryakyn's website. They do have the ISO Grips in black. They don't have a part number just for the Triumph's like they do for the chrome ones. So, I looked up the chrome ones and compared model numbers. The chrome ones that fit our bikes is the same model number as the Honda Shadow 1100s. So, looking back at the black ones, it would appear that they will work on our bikes if you get model number 6340, which is the same model number that would fit the Honda 1100s.

Thanks Soren. I saw that I was just hesitant because they don't come with the throttle sleeve like the chrome ones for our bikes do.

My green ones are just fine, thank you, Friar and Keith. I've decided to make a change. I am walking away from the green, and experimenting a little.
