I'm looking to buy a lightbar but am uncertain which to get. It seems that on certain pictures the Triumph bar looks really wide. Does anybody know the center to center on the Triumph lightbar lights? The Rivco is 16" (according to newspeedmaster) & you can mount the turn signals below the lamps. I'm leaning toward a tighter look but may go either way.

JC Whitney is even cheaper, but don't sneeze or you'll blow the chrome right off.

Not wishing to state the obvious, but I have the Triumph lights on my America with the Triumph touring screen and you don't have much clearance between the edge of the light and the screen. If you have similar setup, 16" would reduce gap by 1.5" per side and that be too short.

Try these.

Lights Canadian Style.

Now listen here Franky. Don't go and get all confused about those lights. They are not Canadian....they are Kootenaland lights from the hills. Very exclusive.

No one in Canada would ever call those Canadian though.....

Not exactly what you're talking about here, I have two lightbars, one stock Triumph width, the other has the stock mounts cut off and new ones on. I run one wider one with the windshield, the shorter one without. They are both wired with a 6-pin quick connect plug under the lower fork tree. When the windshield goes on, the two bolts for the lightbar need to come off anyway to attach screen mounting hardware, so it's no big deal to swap out.

much better than this with no screen...

Matter of opinion, the wider bar coupled with a lowered bike and saddle bags as well as wide bars can give you that low fat look. I used the Triumph bar on Wendy's bike then put her turn signals between the driving lights and the headlight.

Giving us the look we were going for.

I didn't like the w-i-d-e look either, but I'm a cheap ass and already had the stock bar. My solution was to drill new light mounting holes about 1" inboard of the stock holes. I pimped it out by buying a pair of conchos from the leather shop and running 4 strands of leather through them and dropping them through the original holes. Hangs about 8" below. Cost me $3.

Not sure how long I'll keep it, but it balances the leather fork bag and saddlebags and I've gotten a few positive comments.

I think Dave cut the Triumph light bar down and used P clamps to mount the lights but I could be wrong.

Me also, here's my version:

Turned out OK, I think. Drilled & Dremeled the bar to run the wiring out the back, per Dave's suggestion.

I used black plastic hole plugs on the cut ends.

I have a JC Whitney lightbar that I never really used. The center bracket was so horribly off center I cut it off and my buddy rewelded it for me. Then I tried to buff it out and the chrome came right off. But if anyone wanted to play with it they can have it for shipping. I'd probably plan on powdercoating or rattlecanning it black or silver. I probably have the brackets for the ends too.
