Thanks, I had some porosity issues with my last tank. So I bought a fresh America tank on Ebay. I trimmed the seam, cut off the brackets, cut out the fuel bung and tach dimple and had a friend weld a plate in. He is a fantastic welder and assured me that porosity would not be an issue. I like the eyebrow badges I've seen on people's bikes here. This is an awful pic but I've done some other stuff recently and I'll post some daylight photos soon.

Nice. And now you can fill it faster.

Yes and more importantly, gas wont spit on the paint. Several others here have flushed their gas cap and smoothed their tanks, I wonder if they experienced the same issue. When the fuel bung is welded in slightly lower then the stock(raised) bung, it comes quite close to the top of the tunnel making fueling more cumbersome and sometimes a bit messy. Something to think about. Again, I try not to make the same mistakes twice albeit with varying success.

That's how Triumph should have made them in the first place. Very tidy!

Beautiful work there, Paul!!!

(...and yeah, wouldn't it be great if Mr. Bloor would've given us an optional gas tank/handlebar instrument package like this for our bikes?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Nice look!

I couldn't tell it was an America tank until you said so. The side indents weren't easy to see in the pic, until ya look for it.

Can't wait to see it mounted, and in the daylight.

And you may see me tonight With an illegal smile J. Prine
