Hey guys and gals, Just doing a bit of bumping here and reminding you that these are on hand and ready to go. I now sell through fasteddysports so you can also get a nice plate frame or other items from Eddy all in one fell swoop Quote:
NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH Fasteddysports.com Kit with tabs (brushed stainless steel finish or powder coated gloss black) ($45) – * This kit provides tabs that are bent to 90 degrees to allow a location to mount indicators (OEM or aftermarket). * Holes for indicators are available in two sizes (3/8” for OEM and most aftermarket indicators) and 5/16. YOU will need to open the indicator mounting holes to the correct size using a step drill but OR if you know what size you want let me know and I will do it for you. * The material for this is 1/8” stainless steel in either a brushed finish or gloss black powder coated. Order here: Lay Down Plate Ordering Link Here are a couple of pics of the bracket before mounting/painting.

Mounting instructions Link to video here: Lay Down License Plate Video
Printed instructions will be included with each kit but as things can happen here it is for your reading pleasure: Installation instructions Plate kit w/ tabs
Tools you will need on hand for the plate installation: • 10mm socket or wrench for under fender bolt removal. • 11mm socket or wrench for under fender bolt installation. • 5mm HEX (allen) key for license plate bracket mounting screws. • Wire cutters/snips for trimming zip ties.
Other tools to remove your OEM turn signal stems • 13mm to remove the inside nuts holding the stems in place. • If you have a heat gun or torch to heat the nut it will loosen the factory used locktite.
Additional support: There is an accompaniment video to these instructions on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1cuPa-cX8s
Remove OEM license plate bracket 1. Remove your license plate and frame. 2. Unplug four black plugs found behind plate. • Make note of right and left wires. o Right are green/blue – please verify upon installation! o Left are green/red – please verify upon installation! 3. Remove three 10mm nuts from backside of bracket. Be careful not to confuse with the three for the tail light assembly. 4. Wiggle the bracket and pull. • There are three washers holding it in place from the back that you will push out the back once the bracket is removed. • Leave the three rubber grommets and rubber base gasket in place. 5. Add some fender protection such as masking tape. This will prevent dings to your paint during fitment and adjustment.
Install your lights onto the new bracket * You will need to cut the OEM wires to get the wires out of the stems if you are not re-using them. Be sure to leave enough to solder them back on. • I do not suggest using crimp style connections at all. 6. Use the thinnest nut you can on the inside of the tab and cut down as much excess thread as you can. All of this is done for clearance to the fender. 7. Use red Loctite and/or a lock washer to prevent loosening over time. 8. Tests fit and adjust lights before you secure the bracket to the fender.
Once you have the aligned its time to install everything.
Final installation of new bracket 9. Place the two provided spacers in place on the bottom two mounting holes. (this is also done for additional clearance of the stem nuts to the fender) 10. Insert the three brass screws provided. • This will hold the plate in place for now. 11. Use one stainless steel washer and stainless steel lock nut on each brass screw. • Do not over tighten. You do not need a lot of force. • The top nut will stop on its own when it reaches the brass collar. • The two bottom nuts should be snug but there is no collar to stop them. • Pay attention to the fender clearance when tightening the bottom two. TIP – I like to use the socket or wrench to hold the nuts and tighten using the hex key from the top. 12. Reconnect the turn signal wires and test for proper operation. • If you have electrical grease use it now. 13. Zip tie the wires out of the way using the provided zip ties. • I’ve found it best to tie them to the OEM harness that runs inside the fender. 14. Add your license plate and frame. • Pay attention to the license plate mounting bolts. It may be necessary to cut them down for clearance. • Finger tighten all bolts before final tightening. This will make the bottom two bolts easier to install. 15. Congratulations. It looks good doesn’t it!

Good workmanship and design, damn another accessory to explain to the wife. Did you shorten up the arms on the signals?

OK, so I just ordered a 3/8", black powder coat and plan on using my OEM indicators, but would love to shorten the stems. Any quick tips on doing that? Is it as easy as just cutting them down with a hack saw or sumpton? Can't wait to get this bracket, I hate my silly NY license plate all sticking straight up and looking totally uncool...

I just installed my bracket and couldn't be happier, looks great! I'll post a picture when I get my new frame. One question... where do I "hide" the wires? Should I pull them right through the hole to inside the fender, that seems like they would be vulnerable to dropping down and striking the tire (that wouldn't be good) Right now I just have them folded up between the bracket and the fender, does that sound right?
thanks for a great design and product!

Through the hole then use the supplied zip ties to keep them clear.

OK, here's the install with new Joker rear bolt frame. (I'm still determining what type stems I want to replace the dumbo ear turn signals.)

No urgency - I have to decide which aftermarket turn signals to get first for the correct hole size. I'll place the order on the weekend.

BTW - what is the overall width of the bracket? I need to figure out if my turn signals need long or short stems (Oz licence plates are wider than USA ones).

I'm not home to measure right now but it's just slightly wider than an American sized MC plate but not by much. Here's a link to a bunch of pics I took with different lights and stems. It'll give you a good visual on what it looks like with oem stems and short stems, oem lights and small silver bullets on both oem plate mount and lay down. Lay down plate pics

Hi Z. If you could measure that would be great. I took the plunge on some aftermarket signals with very short stems (they were a very good deal) and now I need to work out if I need adapters. Thanks.

My texas plate is a bit larger than than the kit 1/4 inch. I have some led 3" signals that screwed right into it with no problem. If your plate and lights fit the oem one they will fit this one IMHO>

7 1/4" at the widest part. With a typical MC plate on there you can barely see the bent tabs. With a cheap license plate frame you see none of it.
Hope that helps.
