I remember reading something on this site about sportster brake pads that fit our bikes. I did a search but couldn't find the thread. Does any one know what year sportster pads fit? I'm looking for rear pads BTW. Thanks.

Doing a search for EBC brake pads on ebay often gives listings with numerous other makes and models in the item description. Here's one. Not that I'd trust an ebay ad as the gospel, so I'd check EBC's catalogue just to make sure they got it right. FWIW, I just buy my brake pads from Brent. The Carbone-Lorraine front pads I installed at 17,000 miles are pushing 19,000 miles with plenty of life left in them, but then I'm easy on brake pads because I use engine braking to do a lot of my slowing down.

I posted about the price of sportster pads back in November. That's the brakes
How I bought a set then discovered I was sold the wrong set. Went to Dumfries, VA where the HD dealer wanted way too much money for some pads. Sportster brake pads will not fit our rides.

Just replaced my rear pads, infact a day before we went on the Welsh Wales run here in the UK, I think I paid around £18.00 so that would equate to about $36.00, but that was fitted, he also check the oil and went through the bike for me, just for peace of mind.... I thought it was a good price, what have other people paid in the UK?

You got a deal there Ray!. A new set of pads alone is gonna cost you £12-14, so to get them fitted & the bike checked out for £18 is good going.
I have just got my hands on a service manual, and managed to get some new pads at less than trade, so I'm gonna be doing my own for a while.

Working in DC I happened on a guy who rides a HD as part of one of the many govt security units in the District and stopped to chat about his machine. He said it was borrowed as his was down for brakes. He said they're required to ride American, thus the HD, but many would rather ride anything else. To get to the connection, he said something like 6 machines were down waiting for brake pads, that the HD pads had come off the rivets and just fallen out. Even if you find some that fit, you may want to stay away from HD branded pads. Most of the guys wanted to get Victorys but the senior guys were stuck on the Motor Company.
And hey, that's not a knock from me, that's just what the guy said.

I bought Brent's sintered copper for the rear, after they are broken in, they really grab.

-Typical Harley Owners - DO NOT BE ALARMED- This may be true as it relates to 'service' cycles, however, it is unlikely to happen to Harleys in civilian use. It is very hard to wear out a set of pads while on a trailer.

Now that was intended, but rather funny!
