Does anyone have one of these? I just ordered one from Brent. It says "not for metal grips"
I got the 1 inch one and I am going to try it out on my kuryakins. I am thinking if I use a wide rubber band (like the kind that comes with a wrist buster) at the inside end of the grip it will provide the needed friction to work as desired. If not, well maybe I'll go back to the stock or an old school grip or sell/trade it.

I've not heard of them until your post so I went off and Googled it. I can see why they say "not for metal grips." You would absolutely need the rubber because the device depends on friction to work. Nothing new however... I've seen people use an old spoke shaped just right to fit over the grip using the brake handle as a stop.
I wonder if the GoCruise control would eventually chew away at the rubber. One other concern... what if you need to brake in a hurry. Not good if the throttle is locked open.

I have one on hand and tested them, the material is not suited to grip metal. A band may work but it will likely slip. It really does work well on rubber grips. When I tested it it was 28 F and left it four 20 minutes and it never moved a mm. Impressive.
Kuryakyn makes a Throttle lock that will work on the stock and Kuryakyn Grips, tested that one too, works nice, similar in appearances and style to the old Vista Cruise.

I put mine on. It seems to want to work pretty good with my Kuryakyns. all the way inbd, its got the radius of the grip pushing it against the rubber pads and seem to hold. Ive yet to road test it. I will take my "rubber band" (AKA kids bicycle tube cut to size) and test that also. and no worries about wear, Plenty of tube left!

update on the throttle control.
NO, it will not act as a cruise control on the Kuryakyns. BUT>>>>> While it did not HOLD the speed for long, It WOULD hold it long enough to adjust mirror, stretch shoulder, hang / shake arm for a few min. Depending on the condition of the road, it works pretty good for that use. Combined with my cramp buster, I had better relaxation of my right arm and wrist. I think it was still is a good investment.

I bought one from Fasteddy.
I cut a 1/2 inch loop from an old bicycle inner tube which I put on my ISO grips.
Cruise control works great.

I was thinking about the fat rubber band that originally came with my Throttle Rocker for use with metal grips.

Their website now says Quote:
Now come with Silicone Ring is ideal for metal grip or increasing friction.
So, I guess it should work with just about any grip now.

BTW, when you break, it pulls the control up. no problem there.

Uh yeah, if you roll off the throttle.

I used mine today on a 80 klm. highway trip.
It works great at holding the throttle so you can stretch and ease the pressure on your right hand and arm.
That is all I use it for.

I received mine a few days ago, it has the silicone band with it and works great on my ISO grips. I think a small thumb lever on the lower arm would be an improvement, that way you could push it off with your thumb rather than roll the throttle off to release it. It can be released like this as it is, but a larger surface to push against would help. JMO

Save some money and get one of your lady's pony tail scrunchies (the ones that look like a big round o'ring). Slip it on the grip so it's between your hand and the large part of the grip. When you get tired roll it up over the grip and pull it into the space between the grip and throttle housing. Make sure you get one that's big enough that you can grab the open loop and just pull it out when you're done. Works like a charm... just be dang careful when and where you us it.

As a update, Since I learned of the new silicone band, I wrote the company from the posted web link. I told them I had bought one from Brent w/ out the ring and how much to get one? They took my info and sent me one for free. I know it is a low cost thing, but little gestures like that go a long way for a company. I put it on but have not gotten to try it out yet.

I'd say I can underline what Beamer says here. It's not perfect, but it'll make possible to rest. Especially well while keeping the hand on the grip, but almost fully resting. I've got the stock rubber grip and purchased this accessory to ease tennis elbow..

I finally got out to test mine, since the weekend before, the missus had other ideas instead of me getting to try the throttle control. I think it works pretty good. Remembering to roll off the throttle is the big trick, but it comes right up when breaking. I think it will be good on long trips, especially on the slab.

Probably not enough contact surface on the grip for the cruise control to "grip." I'm guessing the band is basically a wide rubberband that wraps around the grip (usually for metal grips) and give the cruise control lever something to latch onto. Throttle Rockers come with something similar.

Yes on mine there is not enough contact surface...you can see where it just touches the "X's"...I could cut the "X" off in one strip...but like I said it works for 30 sec or so...long enough to relax my hand..
