I have had the Cam cover of my bike several times and have always had the same problem.

Is there a certain way to take it of and replace without hastles.

I always seem to get it jammed, gasket falls off, you probably know the rest.

I want to do my valve clearances before my trip South in August and I hate having to f*rt about with that cover and gasket.

On the same subject I try to set my clearances in the middle of the range. Is this the way you all do it.

When I set mine I shoot for the middle of the clearance range. As far as the cover goes I don't know any tricks.

I just took mine off for the first time and yeah, it was a struggle, and I don't even have any throttle cables in the way (took them off because I'm getting new ones). I couldn't figure out if it might be easier to remove it to the left, right, forward or what.

YES, to the coils!

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

Frank,
I still run AI but I didn't have any problems sliding the cam cover out. I just removed the AI plumbing and HT leads and slid the cover forward and out.
