I dreamed about Wonder Woman but never seen wonder wheels.
I use WD-40 which cleans them up and it smells nice. They still get dirty but I try and stay on top of it.

My son and I spray a whole can of non stick cooking stuff (Pam) underneath our Jeeps a couple of time a year, mud and dust hose off super easy, no pressure washing needed. Goes on clear and shiny.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Back in the '70's, when I was a gas station attendant (remember those!?) , I would spray the painted portions of the front of the cars during love bug season, before installing the Love bug screens, with Pam, for a dollar a car.
A $2 can of Pam would do 10 - 12 cars.
MAN! WAS I ROLLIN' IN THE DOUGH!!! ('70's remember, wages were around $2.00 an hour)
And you may see me tonight

We still have gas station attendants in Oregon. Just try and pump your own gas, and everyone will yell at you. Motorcycles are the exception, but they have to hand you the nozzle.
It's nice when the weather sucks. I hand them my card and stay in the nice warm/dry car.

From my experiance. Dont ride when there is salt on the roads. Dont use to much chain lube, makes the dirt stick to them.
I clean them with solvoautosol metal polish and then give them a light coat of WD40. I have some Mothers Mag/metal polish I picked up in Canada last year, seems good stuff, but I have not seen it in the UK.
If you wash the bike (use an auto shampoo) its best to dry off the wheels.

I use to use Simichrome, which is easy to get hold of in the US but like rocking hose sh1t in the UK, considering it is made in Germany. You can buy it here but very expensive

The seller of that Simichrome points out that it's good for cleaning 100s of pens. Now THERE'S something I've got to get around to doing one of these days!!
