Otay . Lola wants one . Assuming Triumph still makes the factory unit , where is the acceptable official mounting locale ? Or... does I just bore a hole wherever ?

Youll get it cheaper at Powerlet and you can get the cables you want at the same time without having to hunt them down. Socket w/ spring loaded cap Cable choices...Hmmmm

I fitted one last week to a 2006 America if i understand you correctly: 1] the mount location is a pre-existing hole in the engine mount on the RHS of the bike, just below the tank. 2] at LHS under the tank, there's a purple connector for it. you just plug it in. I can mail you a copy of instructions if you want. graham@familymoore.net. drop me a note.

Its a black connector with two wires, one is purple wire. Its usually taped to the main harness but easy to see. Look for the blue tape (at least it was blue in 2007).

I got a factory plug , but don't have the small harness to plug n play . Bummer . Don't know where to get that .
But wait - does the plug just snap onto the male tangs on the back of the adaptor without a tiny harness ? Hmmm .

I didn't see my connector until I pulled the tank. Might be worth a peek.

OK , according to the diagram Graham sent me , it looks like the dormant plug does just snap onto the prongs . Life is good .

Well dogonnit , I didn't expect such a simple thing to get so complicated , but I got my nice factory accessory outlet off eBay , got all stoked to plug n play , and lo and behold , it's a dinky little specialized outlet for electric gloves or something !! I thought it was a standard cigarette lighter type outlet . I'm gonna send it back and just get a Honda Mini Trail and eat granola on a mountaintop . Wat went wong ?

Why not go with one of these adapters: Powerlet Cables OR just change the connector on the accessory you're using: Powerlet plugs

So , the smaller diameter female Triumph outlet is considered a "Powerlet" configuration ? OK , color me obtuse 'cause I never got into any electrical clothes !
Thanks , I'll get the adaptor .
