Yes, they're going to the X-Men well once again, but this one looks like it might not totally suck...

I'm going to be the same old grumpy movie critic I always am. A movie based on the original X-men cast would be better, cause it would be simpler and condusive to plot formation. Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Jean Grey (dangit, forgot her original character name) and Xavier. When I was a kid, I owned X-men #1 and 3.

Those movies were fun, and entertaining.

I just saw Daredevil again this week. Yikes. I tried to convince myself it wasn't that bad because it has a Bonneville America in it, but eeeeesh.

Good, bad or indifferent, I'll go and see it anyway.

Well, Keith, ya see, my clothes washer and dryer died over the weekend so I was at a friend's house on Tuesday doing my laundry. And they were watching it.

This is going to be a very expensive weekend.

Nutz, give me Popeye the Sailor Man. Now, that's a real super hero. He uses nuttin' but his fisks an' his spinach.

Robin Williams, 1980. I know you're not too young to have missed that one...

Funny, I'm a movie grump, but I LIKED Daredevil. Cool villian (not with super powers, but believable skill), nice details (the water tank for blanketing enough sound to get some sleep), the hot chick (nuf said).

Me too, I have a hard time finding a good movie to watch.
The best movies I have seen in a while was "Gran Torino", (I know not a super hero movie)and a movie called "Hot Rod" ( again not a super hero movie).

I did like the X-men movies they were very entertaining.

(Not much into super hero movies, do like a good sci-fi flick though).

Some of the originals are in this film, it just wasn't obvious from the trailer. Oh, and it was Marvel Girl.

BTW, they are also rebooting Spider-Man later in the year.

And they're rebooting Superman, too. At least Marvel is trying a few more "new" characters on the big screen now that they have their own movie studio. DC is in a huge rut (although the newer Batmans are awesome).

I loved Gran Torino. Clint Eastwood always was my hero.

Captain America is coming to the big screen sometime in the near future, and Thor is going to be out soon too... lots of comic book action hero movies lately

What? Green Lantern is out this summer (new for DC), between Thor and Captain America with the year ending with X-Men and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Superman is starting to sound good since Nolan (director of the Batman films) is producing and the guy who directed 300 and The Watchmen is directing. They've cast some actor from the Madmen series as Superman.

Similarly, both DC and Marvel might be coming back to tv as well with Wonder Woman and Hulk getting pilots.

I shouldn't even post in this thread. After that detailed post of yours John, I realize I've got a long way to go before I'm even close to being a good and proper nerd.

Then again... is that something I really want to aspire to?
