My husband is interested in a forum for the Rocket Roadster. Said I'd ask you guys here. Anyone know of any? He's thinking of going from his HD V-Rod to the new Roadster. I don't really care as long as he likes what he's riding and has fun. Comments, pros, cons?

Thanks, Kathy

Most comfortable Rocket out there, IMO. Can't help on the forum, but I sure do like the bike. That bike is pure badassery.

R3Owners.net has a R3R-specific forum.

R3Owners.com might have one, but I don't go there often.

(I'm looking at [adding] a Roadster in a month or three [to my stable].)

Try contacting RocketBob, he's a Seattle local who went from a TBA to a Rocket. His handle on this board is odatbob. I'm sure he can give you some valuable advice.

Yeah, but he got one of those detuned Rocket III Touring bikes, ya know, the one for OLD GUYS...

I don't know if he hangs out here much. I think he's usually on one of the two Rocket sites I mentioned above.

He's a great guy. Saved my arse last September. Just don't ask him about trucking.

I rode a Rocket III several years ago, and felt the tank looked like an airport runway in front of me, although the bike was very easy to ride. Not sure I would want to have to back it into the garage after every ride...at least I don't think it would be as easy to back as my SM.

I did get a chance to sit on a Roadster a few weeks ago, and it felt much different than the original Rocket III, in that I felt like I was sitting ON the Roadster, not IN it. The tank stretched out below me, and I really liked it. I can't wait to ride one.

Then again, for a few more $$$'s, one could also get that Italian Diavel, which weighs less than 500 lbs....but still a roadster (I guesss).

For another $500 you can get a similarly equipped Thunderbird with ABS, a 600cc smaller engine and worse brakes...

Oh, but hey, it "looks better."

I think my R3 has been a POS.
Triumph couldn't have helped less if they had tried.
There was a fault with the bike which the dealer eventually corrected - they had it 7-8 weeks.
In the process they caused the timing chain to fail while I was riding it.
It went .. "clatter ... bang". Sorta.
They had it another 5-6 weeks to sort that.
Now they have had it another 3 weeks (they still have it) to correct what they caused the second time of having it.
I'm keeping the America but I'm gonna bin the R3 before something else goes wrong.
I hate the way Triumph and the dealers have treated me but knowing how much fun the R3 is (it makes you go ... lots!) I would love a Roadster.
I fancy the Guzzi I mentioned - it was suggested I have a Tiger
Yeah right!
I wish we had the lemon law.

lemon law one more reason to love Texas.

the first r3's had issues. i had the r3t...the old mans de-tuned beast. good bike but it weighed more than my truck.
loved it on trips on the highway hated it around town. and i could never figure out why they gave the touring model a smaller tank.

If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

I put close to 14000 miles on a r3 in 1 year. Loved every one of 'em. And it'll eat the V-Rods lunch, too. Yes, they are quick, but not as quick......

Took the Roadster on a short spin at demo days here...whoa!...the power is addictive and for such a big bike, it was very easy to corner I thougt. At least compared to my buddies Road King.

I think I would just get in a lot of trouble, but if I had the money; I'd probably do it anyway.

The two web sites already posted are the best ones imo. i dont have a roadster but I have an 09 classic, changed it a bit and put 16000 miles on it in 15 months including a 3000 mile trip through Spain and France. Here's how it looks now

That's that fly screen the dude on the .com site is selling, right? How well does it work? I really like the one from that carbon fiber company in Japan, the "angry" style flyscreen, but it's something like $600 US. YIKES. I would probably still try the WindVest off my America first.

The evil bob angry fly screen works great and looks a lot better than the sports screen I have.
