Hi all, as some of you may know already, I'm interested in looking at the various air/fuel ratios gauges available on the market and was wondering if anyone had already been down this track already and if so, would you mind sharing any info you may have to help me buy a good one. Any info appreciated as I do want to buy one that will be half descent and not a waste of money. Cheers Staffo

Stacka, If you get one make sure it is a Wideband Model. Try this link: A/F Gauge.Ozzie Ebay. Ebay Same Gauge

I have the Invovate LM2 a/f, it is not cheap but has a lot of features in addition to just the a/f. The ability to record rpm and a/f into the data logger is quite handy.
only issue I have with it is I bought just the single O2 sensor kit thinking that I could later add the second O2 channel as it is the same unit with the plug ins for the second O2, NOT. It seems the control unit is the same but a differnt board inside that cannot be purchased seperately. So if you think that you might ever want 2 O2's, buy the 2 up front.

So where on the exhaust does one weld in the fitting for the sensor? On the crossover or one on each pipe separately? I would think the crossover would work if you also installed two shunts, so that you could read each carb independently.

Thanks Frank and Micah, seems great minds think alike with you both suggesting the innovate line of A/F. That's as good a place as any to start as anywhere else. I'm still a newby as far as these go but with a little bit of reading, I should be more conversant with them.

on my speedmaster I have just one sensor port welded into the cross over pipe slightly to the right of center. on my t-bird there is a sensor port in each of the cat bypass pipes. if I was to do the speedmaster again I would do with the 2 sensor port set up. (and still might)

Micah, I'm glad you brought the two port question up cos IMHO I would have thought tuning each carb separately was obviously a better alternative to both at the same time. I mean the in the latter single port method, the air fuel readings may be good but in fact one carb may be slightly lean and the other slightly rich to give an average of both. Some may think two ports may be slightly over the top given both carbs have the same jets etc but I've found it's not uncommon to have different adjustments on my thumb screws showing the carbs are tuned slightly different of each other. This single sensor a/f is also what my dyno op users with one probe up the spout. Not ideal IMHO which is another reason I want my own a/f gauge. Thanks for your opinion in confirming the two port arrangement is your preference.

I opened this thread up again cos I'm looking for a wideband air fuel ratio gauge that I can fit on my bike and has two bung sensors for each pipe. Innovate sound like a good model but I'm also open to other quality makes. Anyway, I can't seem to find what I'm after. I could be half blind but if anyone can give me a hand I'd appreciate it.

I have a set of headers that I welded in a bung fitting on each about 14 inches down stream of cylinders and before the catalytic converter of the stock pipes. I used as a temporary set-up to tune my 07 America. I used the Innovate System with the older LM-1(comes with sensor), RPM Module to which the second sensor is connected. RPM clamp around plug wire. Digital vacuum gauges monitoring each carb. With this set-up plugged into my laptop I monitored (and adjusted) real time numbers for each lung. With no laptop I can record 45 minutes of real world riding. Which then be downloaded to the laptop to view. The LM-1 does display one air/fuel sensor and rpm. Older graphs of AFR http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=0#Post456262 Everything plugged into my battery tender plug, plumbed to my storage bag in back. It didn’t look pretty, but it was for one season. Now it’s off and the original headers are reinstalled. Pics of set-up http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post455035I have each cylinder/carburetor dialed in to my liking. 14.7 to 15.1 at any cruise speed and any time I accelerate it drops down to 12.8 to 13.2 for the ideal power zone (13.1). My riding is about 60/40 Hwy/City My MPG ranges from 41 to 50 no BS
