No,but he sure can play football.I Would not want to even hang out with him. But I'm not looking for him to be a friend of mine or date anyone I know. I just want him to do what the Rooneys pay him to do and what he does so well and thats win football games.
PS When I was growing up my dad and my uncles were my role models

Don't you guys know that FOOTBALL is more important than some GIRL being raped, some poor dogs being seriuosly abused. There is MILLIONS of dollars riding on these games that girl will not ever make a million dollars in her life.

Here's the thing. We have newsmedia now that can access and report on everything a player has ever done. In the past, these things were overlooked, or just swept away. So you don't know what the great athletes of the 50s,60s,and 70s were really like. Who knows what happened during those drunken nights they can't remember? But women who fool around/date/marry pro athletes, actors, etc. have to know what they're getting into. Infidelity, irresponsibility, stupidity, is what they show to the world when they're not at work. The Bad Boys (and Girls) can be fun- for a short time- or they can be the worst trouble you've ever had in your life. (Anyone have a really hot psycho in their past???)

Yep. Well said, Brian.
Yep. Does the name Mickey Mantle ring a bell for anybody out there?

I guess you guys hear the players are going on strike for more money and better benefits next year.

Actually, they might be going on strike, not because of money and benefits, but because the league and most of the owners want to go to an 18 game season and most of the players dont.

I am really getting to hate football. You can be "fined for hitting to hard". Now they are crying because they may have to play 2 more games per year. When they aren't playing they are torchering Animals, raping women, Molesting minors, and driving drunk. They make 1-! play every 15 minutes so a 2 hour game lasts all damn day. If you go to a game. Ya see-em standing around all the time and wonder what the hell is going on?...The game is paused for t.v. comercials. How long are the fans going to take this bull................. I am going over to soccer or rugby....
Oh I got it now Aussie rules.. I watched that with my buddy once ( He is from Sydney, but lives in Oklahoma now) that was an interesting game, and exciting. Non-stop action... crazy action too.

Go on then, the football world isn't going to miss you. Professional athletes make what they do BECAUSE THEY CAN. If my job was more spectator friendly, and 60,000 people showed up to watch and it was on tv with paid advertisements, I would definitely ask for more money to do it. Good luck finding soccer or rugby on network tv in the states.

I am not against the money they make you understand. When you make that much money you don't have much to cry about.
I got the internet and don't watch network T.V.
I think some where the fans should say enough commercials, enough thuggery, and enough crying about crybaby crap. Get on with the game in a way that we can sit and enjoy it again.
I use to love watching football. Relaxing on a Monday night with a beer, and some chips and hotsauce.

It's a business, and as long as people tolerate the commercial breaks, the NFL will keep letting them regulate the pace of the game. The league wants to add two more games, and take them off the pre-season, and not pay the players accordingly. If they strike, I think that's great, it means unions are still alive and well in our country.

Blimey, I get to watch my first superbowl in the USA this weekend!
What sport is it again?
Well, to answer your question here Graham...it's the sport where people are allowed to touch the ball with their hands and NOT just kick the thing around endlessly from one end of the field to another, willy-nilly!!!
(okay, maybe not "willy-nilly", but c'mon here...doesn't "that" sport pretty much consist of the following: Oh, nice pass...oh, intercepted pass...oh, nice pass...oh, intercepted pass...oh, nice pass...oh, another nice pass...oh, WOW, and a THIRD nice pass...OOPS, intercepted again...and here we go all OVER again!!!)
And so, if you're REALLY interested, then maybe George here might be able to explain this concept about good ol' American "Football"(AND that other great American Pastime, Baseball) better than I can :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om_yq4L3M_I
I enjoyed watching Carlin in that little spoof. But his use of violent metaphors is just ...so "politically incorrect" that I found myself aghast at the implications that someone may be incined to do violence as a result.

I guess all I am saying is that I am not willing to continue tolerating it any longer and am moving on. I know they'll not miss me but how does the saying go.

I only watch a few of the wildcard games and the stupid bowl, but basically for the commercials. I don't care too much for most organized sports anymore. They are terrible role models (most anyway, there are some good ones so no flames please) and are an egotistical bunch of extremely overpaid morons and criminals in the vast majority of ALL sports these days. NFL: National Felons League...

Professional sports, whether football, baseball, stock car racing, etc., are no better than professional wrestling, save for the outcome may not be predetermined. It's a business and a spectacle. Entertaining to be sure, but it's more performance art than sport. So that said, OF COURSE the participants act like prima donnas... And that said, I have to go make my onion dip for the party...

ESPN just interviewed the The Packer Pope. He always cracks me up. A few years ago, the Packers played the Ravens in Baltimore on a Monday night. He was walking around the stadium with some cheerleader-type Packer bimbos. (we intercepted Farve five times that night in a rout...) Forgot to include the bimbo

Manic Depression is searchin' my soul.... O well. The Packers deserved the win. I've been a Steelers fan for 38 years, they won 6 SB, so I've felt this 32 times before. And unlike SBXXX (which I'm STILL PO'd about), I can live with this one. Now I just hope the Owners and the NFLPA can get it together so next Sept I can bug everyone ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Pap takes a minute during a food run to strike a Heisman pose in Packers gear. He's legally blind but just rec'd a monacle from the VA to allow him to see the tv, he also has a hearing device. He didn't have these things last year, so was pretty excited to be able to see and hear the game. I'm real happy for him.

Yep, and the Steelers have nothin' to hang their head about. It was a great game, and maybe with just one less turnover the outcome might've been reversed.
(...yep, that fumble caused by Mathews might've been the key play of the game...well THAT, and that cannon of an arm that Rodgers possesses)

Hey at least that poor center, who's first career start was in the superbowl--no pressure there, didn't screw up (unlike 2 weeks ago). He's gotta feel good about that.

yeah, the "Stairway to Seven" and "Knocking on Sevens Door" references were pretty lame... halftime show sucked so hard, Slash couldn't save it, and if they hadn't lit up the name, I wouldn't have known that was Usher that came in near the end. I will take old Who or Beatles over that crapola any time

Yep, that's true John, though when the Packers lost All-Pro CB Woodson during the game and Big Ben started to connect with his receivers for a while there, I thought the Steelers might come back.

Yeah Dave, maybe NOW they put to rest that lame a$$ song, "Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night", once and for all, EH?!
Yep, maybe the B.E.P.s should just go ahead and do a friggin' rendition of The Archies "Sugar Sugar" with that d*mn Auto-Tune gizmo and just get it over with...it's about as lame and lightweight a song as THAT, alright!!!)
