I installed my new RK chain today. It came coated with some sticky greasy stuff. I cleaned that sticky stuff off then wondered if I was supposed to or not. Nothing was mentioned in the instructions.
Your thoughts?????

I never have, Zmilin. I've installed, ridden, and lubed as per normal. My chains haven't suffered as a result.

A friend once said about my chain... "it's cleaner than the cutlery in my kitchen." That said, I wiped off as much of that sticky stuff as I could on my new chain. I figured it's only gonna attract grit and grime and was so unsightly!

Used to. but now it gets wiped off at the first 500 mile lube point. What sucks is that no lube tube comes with an RK chain. you have to wipe the rubber o-rings on the chain to get the lube on before you rivet the mlink.

"Z" I don't think it matters much ole buddy do as you wish about it I probably would not wipe it off, but I am a horse of a different color. Sounds like you already wiped it off. Don't try to put it back on

yeah, its already a done deal that I wiped t all off. I was just wondering if I screwed up or not. Sounds like not.
BTW....the RK chain came with a ML that was coated in the same stuff. The O rings were in the same package and were also coated in the stuff.
