the forks have to come apart- but its not really too bad of a job- i cut my stock steel spacers down instead of using the plastic ones supplied with the kit- fork seals won't need replacing- if i can find the instructions i'll post them-

If your fronts are not leaking you should be good. Good idea to replace fluid, Progressive recommends 10 wt, 15 too stiff with the springs. Fairly straight forward, make sure you put the right amount of fluid in, too much cause it to no compress correctly and ride like a tank.

Just got mine today from fasteddy [thanks] going to drop them in tomorrow. The directions are a little veg I watched a video on youtube looks like the damper rod slides out after you take out the long spring. I was under the impression i had to remove the lower fork from the tube.

Yes, you do need to remove the allen bolt facing straight up through the bottom of the leg, (visible once you pull the unit and flip it over). I slammed my bike 2" front and rear. I also cut 2" off the bottom shroud on each side. I was concerned that they might come into contact with the fender. I like the way that looks next to bikes with the kit but not the trim.

i needed to use an impact gun on those allen bolts- trying to loosen them by hand the damper rod would just spin inside-

As I remember the spring kit came with two spacers...if you put one spacer in it would lower 1" with two in then 2"...but the progressive spring is the same....if all of this is correct...I have a progressive with one spacer I could sell...cuz I did the following: 1. Changed out the stock spring to a progressive. 2. Then about 6mos later I lower the rear of the bike and bought a progressive lowering kit for the front. I kept the same set up as stock 1" higher in the front from the back.
So do I have another lowering kit sitting in the garage ??

The difference in the lowering kit IS the additional little springs. If you already have the Progressive springs you can get just the little ones.

remove the shrouds while you're at it. Looks so much better.

I used the 2" springs under the damper which come with the progressive suspension kit, effectivly lowering the front by 2" without adversly effecting the ride. I also put on the Progressive Suspension 412's lowering the rear 2".
