I took my Tiger in to get some service done yesterday,it was 17 deg F and I rode it to the shop, though only a 15 mile ride I was surprised that I wasn't in agony at all.Carhart coat and bibs are wonderful for sure, heated grips and the bit of windscreen also makes a diff as well. So,seein as how that weren't too bad I jumped on my TBA when I got home and took it for a spin as well.My lord the heated grips and windscreen on the tiger were sorely missed! I filled it up,brought it home, washed it then put it up on the bike stand and pushed it into the corner for the duration.I'm done till I get my Tiger back

Kudos to you for getting the bikes out.
There is a lot of ice/snow/salt/cinders on the road in addition to the temps.
Looks like we might get a lot of snow this week. Might want to put those snow tires on the Tiger.

Waa waa waa, call the waaaambulance...
I got two bikes down in my basement and two more covered in the garage. A foot or so of snow on the ground, 5ºF out (going into the 5-6ºF BELOW zero AGAIN tonight) so I DON'T Wanna hear it!!!
I got at least 3 more months before I can even see the grass again.
Yea, this winter sux big time, calling for another 2-3 feet of global warming to fall in the next week too.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

I hear ya Pat!
Here, we've already had 40 inches, normal season 26.
Expected low tonight: 1. That's right one degree F.
Come On April!

Actually Mike, I'm a little surprised it took you this long to figure this out.

Ya see, everybody knows that while the Tigers are great "Adventure Bikes"(which one could conceivably use for their "adventures" in 17F friggin' weather), Bonnie Americas are more meant to be enjoyed during more temperate climes OR otherwise "enjoyed" for their sheer classic beauty while safely tucked away in their garages during those long and harsh winter months!

(...where, of course, those "long and harsh winter months" are a yearly occurrence, that is!)

Dwight.... not in my neck of the woods this isn't normal cold at all. I was still riding the tba to work this time last year. We get a few days of cold like this as a norm but weeks on end of 20s isn't southern pa weather.

"Southern PA" you say, huh Mike?!

Hey, you don't suppose those West Virginians are behind all this, do ya???!!!

(...OR, of course, it could always be those darn Marylanders down there actin' up again!!!)

Rode mine into work one night last week, was 49 degrees when I left, 39 on the way home. My right hand froze up pretty quick, with 3 pairs of gloves on. Excruciating pain there, the left hand was fine for some reason. Bike would'nt fire trying to get home, had to jump her with a co-workers station wagon...Wont ever do that again!

Yeah, well, to me, there's a difference in enjoying riding and suffering..I was suffering for 45 minutes that night, which, is not enjoyment. If I cant ride with my holy jeans, half helmet and tee shirt, or at the most, my leather jacket, then she stays in the garage...no sense in being miserable or having to "plug in" to something...

Thats why I love it here in south Texas... long ridin season. We only got two seasons here wet and dry. The wet one is a bit cold and the dry one is very hot.

Yeah Chad! Well word over here in northern AZ(where, btw, there are beautiful twisting mountain road galore and all-year riding also), is that it ALSO gets "rather" sticky and HUMID during that latter time o' year you mentioned down there in Houston!

(...sooooo, any truth to that "rumor"????)

Oh! And I almost forget...might there also possibly be any truth to that OTHER "rumor" that your air quality down there in Houston is often similar to that of greater Los Angeles???

(...not that I'm questioning anything about "God's Country" down there, you understand!!!)

Very humid always. Air quality can be less than desireable east of stinkydena. Every where else is good though. The riding is really west and north of Houston. You don't want to ride in Houston lest you wannabe flatweeded by a cager.
We don,t have mountains but the hill country is nice, and we got the coastal road from Freeport to Corpus.

Yeah, actually I've heard how nice the Texas Hill Country is to ride/drive through, and one of these days I hope to experience that for myself.

But, back to topic, yeah, this winter does indeed suck. Hope ya get your Tiger back soon, Mike!

Well, those latter names are listed in no particular order...though I must admit seeing Sylvester Stallone and Kathie Lee Gifford squaring-off would probably sell a lot of tickets...hmmm...think I'll have my people talk to their people

Rode my bike to work today. First time in a month. Last week the schools were closed Thursday and Friday due to snow, today it is 72 and sunny. Good ole OK. weather. If you don't like it today don't worry it will change tommorrow.
