I fitted my Mutazu Silver LN Hard Saddlebags this weekend. I came up with a design that was simple yet still strong enough to support these small hard saddlebags and can easily be removed by undoing the 2 x 8mm bolts in the rear upper sub frame. These panniers are what I would describe as cheap and light duty but I purchased them as a short term alternative to much more expensive saddlebags. Time will tell if they stand up to the use I am expecting to put them through and at least I learnt a bit about how to hang things off a Bonneville America.

They actually don't look too bad. I would try lowering them a bit thouogh. Any pics from the back?
Good simple idea for a mount.

They're looking pretty good John. I too would like to see them from the back.
Live to love, love to live.

Looking good John. Having seen them from behind myself, I think the height is spot on to match the curve of the rear guard. I have to say you keep a very clean motorcycle.

Thanks for your comments and the saddlebag pics of your Speedmaster Michael. It's pics like these that help other readers when they might be considering similar set-ups. My Mutazu bags are just cheap plastic ones too and even if I am super careful with them I'm convinced they'll only last a fraction of the time of good quality fibreglass ones. Yeh mine are mounted a little higher than a lot of other peoples set-ups but because my saddlebags are side opening, having them much lower, especially on the l/h side when the bike is on the sidestand, may present difficulties with accessing them. I also wanted to keep the saddlebag built-in stop lights at a level a little higher than my rear indicators and since I don't have a pillion to worry about, height won't be an issue. If it is, I only have 2 x 8mm caphead screws to remove and the saaddlebags are off the bike. I also looked at shock absorber access and access for chain maintenance so this is the height I arrived at. I've attached a pic viewed from the rear for anyone that is interested as it may help with some other readers future saddlebag mounting ideas.

Looks good John. Thanks for posting the pics. I like the hard bag look. Guess if you wanted to you could lose the stock rear turn signals and use the lights in the bags for turn signals. 115US is a bargain. Please keep us posted on how they hold up.

Those Matazu bags look almost like the tank. Stretched just a little more and they would be a perfect extension of the bike. Nice curve on top, flat bottom. Looks good.
