Hi Guys I had the misfortune to snap my fuse/key plastic cover and wondered if i could replace it with a chrome one and also the right hand blanking cover that has the America logo on it. If anyone knows if there is a replacement chrome cover out there please let me know. If there is no alternative, please PM me and i will look into getting a specialist fabricator to make these two covers if there is enough interest.I would also look at getting the existing plastic covered in chrome or totally new chromed metal based ones made. Look forward to hearing your responses and suggestions Kind Regards Bryan This all obviously depends on cost/price so please let me know if you have any interest at all or if i am wasting my time.If you have any thoughts on price of each item that you would be prepared to pay ,please let me know and i will look into it.

The side cover actually does exist in chrome, good luck finding one though. The fuse cover I have only ever seen in black plastic.

Like the stock one? Try ebay or your dealer or check the classifieds here, sometimes they pop up.

Oh, I would love a nice little chrome side keyhole cover thingy. But given that the fuse cover is hidden, plastic is fine.

Dealership. On both counts, unless you want to invest some real time looking for the chromed side cover. And I've never seen a chromed cover around the ignition switch, either.
I lost a sidecover a couple of years ago. Had just missed a peg when I had reinstalled the old one the last time, but it blew off riding down the rode and I never knew it until the next day.
Bike Bandit shows the ignition cover is only $14.00, so I don't know how much you might be able to save elsewhere (Pinwall's?). The sidecover and decal looks like the best part of $130.00, though. I don't remember paying that much for mine at the dealership, but I never considered looking anywhere else either, at the time. I just called them and asked them to order it for me.

There was one of the chrome panels on ebay a couple of weeks back (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230570270443&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1182) but they are very rare.
I bought both panels (and the battery cover and panel that left side cheese-grater bolts to) from the local dealer, they are easy to get; I had them painted Caspian blue to match the rest of the body work, look great on a sunny day
Caspian Blue '03 BA, Union Jack/Stars and Stripes paint, BUBs, Progressive 812s, and lots of chrome

Yeah, I think that was the right side cover and yes, there's not many around. But the key side cover would be cool in chrome!

I'd get one of those key covers in chrome too if someone made them.

I'd be interested in the chrome key surround.

There could be a lot of us running around without an ignition key panel for a while!
