I'm going to make some silencers and attach them on to the original headers.
Once I remove the stock long silencers I will have removed the cone that creates the back pressure yes?

Is there anything on the market or can I make something to go in my new pipe to create that back pressure?
There going to be quite long ( probably close to original stock pipes in length) and have a bend.
The options on pipe I have from a mate who's runs a metal fab shop is 2 inch outside diameter steel pipe and another that is slightly larger.

Cheers

J&P Cycles has a great selection of baffles.

Smashing I'll check that out... so does a standard baffle basically do the same job as that perferated cone at the top end of the original pipes? Would the baffle go in the same place as the original cone rather than end of the silncer?
Cheers

Yea man you can find all kinds of stuff in catalogues like Ian suggested.
you can also go to a custom exhaust shop for cars and hae what ever you want made. I even found some interesting stuff in Napa auto parts.
yes when you remove the silencer you will remove the reducer cone as well. you could pop it out of each one and weld those into your new pipes. when you get done you should post a picture of the finished product.

This would work well in the small end in place of the reducer cone. $4.99 baffle

This is J&P but you might find something like it closer to you and save some shipping.

You can also check out a ba.com member web site at dinqua.com. He's done it all where our bikes are concerned and is a wealth of knowledge. Also lots of info on the exhaust page.

Just to toss it out there, I've had home built super short "straight" pipes on my '05 for the last 4 years with out any issues and no baffles. Just sayin'
