Question. Has anybody put the 1" spacers on? If so, were you able to do it without having to change any of the cables? I really think adding the spacers will make my stock bars more comfortable. However, I really don't want to have to mess with any of the cables. Thanks for any help on this!!!!

Dan, I see what you are referring to now. At the bottom of this page on newspeedmaster.com, right? At the risk of appearing sacrilegious, I would recommend checking out Jim's Spacers. They are $27 including the longer grade 8 bolts and shipping. So much for extra mints.....

There are two other ways you can go about this also, each cheaper. You can use two 1/2" drive chrome sockets and two grade 8 bolts for about thirteen dollars total, or two stacks of fender washers and grade 8 bolts for about six dollars which is the method I choose.YMMV Vegas

My mileage is definitely varying on this one Alan.
Sockets? ugh....
Fender washers????? You're kidding, right? If not, did you at least get galvanized ones?

I am with Phil. The $27 spacers were a huge improvement over the stock riding position. My cables are fine. Didn't have to change a thing. Once you spend the $1million on a proper seat, if you haven't already, you will be very happy.

Man, you left out myspacers! I mean, after all, being ****** Triumph riders (what other kind could there be) we certainly can't leave out myspacers!
I know, bad joke, let it die.
Sorry

Bonny, all you can see on the fender washer spacer is the edge. Brand new chrome sockets look really good, before ya knock em check it out. That was the norm back in the old days of motorcycling. IMHO such a small item on your bike does not qualify for a large expenditure of money.YMMV Vegas

What a difference with such a small change- back no longer tweaked after a long ride. Jim's spacers- just do it.

I was going to go with the spacers till I got a set of Speedy risers off eBay for even less! Just put them on teh other day and went for a ride on a weird warm Jan day when it hit 40 and they were incredible the difference they made! Routing the throttle down the right side of the frame was all I had to do and no trouble what so ever! And they look cool too! Go for the length, it is really a big difference.

I finally ordered up some spacers. My arms are just a little too short for max comfort on long trips. I've been meaning to order them up for years but I don't use checks anymore and Jim doesn't appear to have a paypal account. Finally had to break down and get a money order!

Hey Phil Quote:
I assume we are talking about Jim's Spacers?
I tried your link but all I get is a page of text with no way of looking at the spacers. Even tried Google and got the same page. What gives?

The link works for me. I get this page with text, and some buttons to click. One of them says "Triumph America" and takes you to a pic of the spacers. Can't understand why you don't.

Does anyone make them for the NON-round risers of the speedmaster?

Aren't the SM risers round where they meet the tree?

Adey,
You probably aren't allowing javascript for that page. I run a program called NoScript with Firefox that allows me to choose which pages are allowed to run javascripts, and the default setting is NO! Once I click on the magic button allowing scripts, the rest of the page comes up.
