I tried a new beer; actually, it is an ale the other day and I was quite impressed with the taste. It is a limited or seasonal ale but it was good. Dogfish Head brews it, it is an India Pale Ale called “Burton Baton”. It’s brewed with two 'threads' or batches of beer: an English-style Old Ale and an Imperial IPA. After fermenting the separate beers in stainless tanks, the two are transferred and blended together in one large oak tank. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month. Burton Baton has a blend of citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. It has a 10% Alcohol by Volume, so tread cautiously! I drank 2 on an empty stomach and caught a pretty good buzz. So if you are going to give it a try I would recommend having a DD or staying at home but it is worth a try.

I love micro brewed beers and crafted beers. The best one I ever had was in Littlerock sasnakrA, at a brew pub called Vino's. I can't remember what they called it but it was the stout. you could buy a 1 gallon jug of it called a growler.

Will have to look for that. I like their 60 and 90 minute brews.

Yea they are good too! I got to try one of their 120 minute brews before as well. They definitely make some tasty brews.

Sounds nice, even if at 10% it is outside my normal range of 4%-5%, I would still like to try it but I doubt it'll come over here

I wonder if they have named it after my hometown?

I don't think Dogfish sells over here in the Pac NW. But we have a large number of microbreweries in the area. I've got a beer supply shop not too far from me. If I had more room in my place, I'd be tempted to make my own.

I've also been enjoying the tv show "Brew Master" focusing on different brews concocted by Dogfish. Very interesting.

mmmmm Dogfish's Punkin Ale is yummy too. Gotta search for it out here in the midwest though. Had some when I was home.

I have not tried that one yet. I will have to try that one some day. I am a fan of almost all of the Dogfish Head brews.

Dogfish Head is what started me back on beer after 23 years of not drinking a drop. I was on vacation in VA and they had some at a cheese shot we had lunch at and I missed good dark beer. I decided to have one with my lunch and it was a dark Dogfish Head. I have had 1 a couple times a week ever since. Some weeks I don't drink any but most weeks I have at least 1. New Castle Brown Ale is what I usually drink though.I never have more than 2 but only on a rare occasion most nights just 1 after a meal. I used to wake up in jail and not know how I got there or get into a fight with a friend for no reason and not remember it. Beat someone up really bad one night and quit drinking the next day and didn't touch a drop for 23 years until last year.
