September 2011 my bike will have 10th birthday (was registered in sep 2001)

March 2005 bought it with 4800 miles on

year after looked like this few changes ....17 inch rear Thunderbird wheel

soon after got proper Epco exhaust

got some custom paint for one season

last winter looked like this

and now look like this

not bad as a 10 years old with over 73 000 miles

This bike evolved with you all this time...

Taste and feel may change over time, but the ride stays the same...

These are the good times!

There ya go, trying to confuse the masses again.

I think we're building the same bike, except you got there first and I'm using shorter fenders.

Well, sure he has Jeff, 'cause Grzegorz has evidently had a whole year longer than anybody else to customize his!!!

Sorry Grzegorz, but that was my way of saying the following: "I don't care when you registered your BA, it's STILL a 2,000 TWO model year Bonneville America, as Triumph never manufactured a 2,000 ONE model year BA!"

You see, I have a 2,000 TWO model year BA that I registered in California in November of 2,000 ONE, but THAT doesn't make MY bike a 2,000 ONE BA either!!!

(oh, and btw...I really like what you've done with your TWO THOUSAND TWO Bonneville America...it's lookin' mighty nice there, amigo!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I hope my 09 america looks that good in 2019..
Is that a 880 metzler front tire? If so, then how do you like it compared to other tires you have tried? How many valve adjustments have you needed? Thanks V.

It will if you do as much work to it as he's done. Meanwhile I just really want that back wheel.

I don't think anyone has picked up on the 73,000 miles bit.
Assuming you don't ride it between now and March, that's 13,640 miles per year since you've owned it - not too shabby there ol' pal.
My bleedin' R3 only has 8400 after 2 1/2 years.
Then again, on probably five occasions it's looked like yours in pic 5

Are you going to buy it a cake?

Still, I'm impressed how much stuff you've done over the years mate

Will your backrest still fit with the Maverick seat? I assume you took the backrest off, because of the now mismatched color.

That looks cool Grzegor, the seat looks well on your ride. I wasn't sure when doing final fitting, but suits your bike... What do you think of it ?

I'm running the same front tyre, (rear on backwards). I was looking at a wide rear, but came across a White wall instead...

80 miles its not that much but is ok need to adjust handlebar a bit now ..move it towards me .....but when I'll put Avon Cobras again on the bike, bike geometry will change again you can see probably now why I wanted red seat...some red accents on the bike

Hey Grzegorz, you've certainly done some changes to your bike over the years and after the re-build you must know it pretty well by now.
Did the handling change very noticeably with the different rear wheel?
Lovely bike mate. It's given me heaps of ideas form my BA.
Btw what brand of front rotor are you now running?
Cheers.

I was running different rear wheel earlier as well it was 17 inch thunderbird wheel ..reason of that was to get better tyres not the bulky cruiser ones ...now both wheels are different sizes and handling is much better may say brilliant but its not only about tyres(at the moment I put Avon Storm tyres they brilliant but low profile, new set of Avon Cobra waiting in the garage) but suspension too and front disc is EBC floating disc

How do you like the backrest? I was thinking about purchasing the same for longer rides but was wondering if it is worth the expense. Thanks

That looks awesome, but the front fender radius is too tight for that wheel.

waiting for another mudguard to come and see how it will look like, its really hard to find something for 21" wheel(there is plenty of custom expencive stuff) all HD fenders are for narrower tyres

How much clearance should one be trying for?

Back to the bike - Great Looking!! Sounds like you're just about to go over the break-in period on the girl.

Yeah, it doesn't conform to the 21er. But you already know that and are working on it, I'm sure.

Your bike is lookin' GREAT there, Grzegorz!

Love those 12incher up front. And, I especially like the wider 21 inchers.

And re the fender...I'm thinkin' if you maybe cut it down a little, like I did to my front fender here, with maybe the front part being a cut that's perfectly horizontal and straight out level to the ground like this...

...then maybe you could still use your stock fender and not have to go with an aftermarket one?

That's kinda what i have at this point... Gettin harder to explain "what model Triumph is that" every time i stop for gas.
It's an '02 Bonneville America -turned- '05 Speedmaster...sort of...
