I happen to stumble across this show, on some obscure HD cable channel last night. It's great to see so many Triumphs on one show, even if they are Thruxtons. Saw some interesting Nortons as well as Jap bikes too.

I have it on Tivo. Its a cool show. Nothing like the drama on OCC. Seems like those bikes and the way they are built are more attainable.

Caught a couple of episodes last night. First was a bit of history on the cafe racer culture. Second was on a couple of builds, one being a zero concept bike by a Virginia Country Lawyer. Both were excellent, but the first was really good on the history of mods and rockers and the clashes they had back in the 50's. These were rough and ready bikes designed for thrill. The Tonner meant something back then. Sweet.

One other thing I left out in the description of the history episode. B@d@ss rock and roll. Tried to catch the bands in the credits, but didn't see them. Great old stuff.

been watching this. Great prog with some good bikes and music. shame there wasn't a little bit more about the original ton up boys. I didn't even know Norton were back on the scene (Doh!) Just a little worried that in 20 years I'll be seeing hollywood films telling me for a fact that cafe racers began in America as a natural marriage between customs and street fighters

That segment on the new Norton was interesting, even if I'm not really a cafe racer type. I like this show!!

Yeah Steve! Ain't it funny how good this show actually is, considerin' and all that it ain't got no "drama" in it...like maybe some father/son(s) interpersonal friction or somethin' "like that"!!!
(...gee, what a novel idea, huh?!...a show about motorcycles that's actually about motorcycles...eeeh, it'll never last...MUCH too simple a concept, ya see!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Sorry, I can't type Paul Teutle, Sr very well...
But yep, this show is far more interesting. Interesting to see some very creative talent, without deep pockets, come up with some great rides. And hearing the stories!!! Plus, Triumph is well represented!!

I haven't caught an episode yet, but I'm trying to...I think they did some filming here in Houston, or maybe Dallas on one episode, and think some of our local BMOA members bikes were featured...Cafe Racers and Scooters - something about the two just seems to go together.

Yes, that was on one of the episodes from last week. Again, a lot of Triumph logos on bikes all around.

Holy cow !!! I just discovered they are running season 2 of Cafe Racer on some new Velocity Channel (affiliated with Discovery Channel). I just enjoyed an episode where they created a "Norley", half-Norton, half-Harley. It was road tested and then went to auction to raise money for children cancer. The bike sold for US$50,000 to some lady who I don't think would ever dare to ride. But still, what a great lady. This show beats the old Teutle teet-for-tat "Sr said, Jr said" show hands down. So cool to see Triumph logos and P-twins all over the place.

Yeah Steve. The HDTV Channel, which "Cafe Racer" was on and which was affiliated with the The Discovery Channel, is now called the "Velocity Channel".

I think it's been a pretty good show. Season 1 was a bit better than this year though. First season was a little more "grassroots", so to speak. This season they are playing it up a bit for the cameras.
The first episode this year was pretty disappointing when the hacked up a very nice Sandcast CB750 for a project... No one with any sense would have done that & they could have done just as nice a job starting with a $500 bike.

Yes, good show. But I do hate to see a rare and classic bikes cut up and messed with. Call me old fashioned but im a stickler for originality. But, it sure is nice to see something other than a stretched out V-twin, aka, Tuttle Special
