.....just off the phone with sears.....walked into the garage the other day and found a puddle of oil under my sears lift....hydraulic ram leaking from the release valve....filled it up - leaked again....sears parts department has no information about this item. http://www.sears.com:80/shc/s/p_10153_12...r=1294155080707 .....guess it's true: if you wan something from sears that doesn't suck, by a vacuum......

Get to the seal(s), and then try to match them up at a local hardware store or supply house....

Good luck with it at any rate, mate.

Marty, Similar jack is available from Canadian Tire and it goes on sale for 1/2 price several times a year. It was going for $59 during the boxing week sale. I bought one several years ago and have had no problems with it.

I called the number provided by Moe this morning.....it was not sears, but rather the supplier that provides the lift to sears.....they were great to deal with (even though the hydraulic ram will be on back-order until later in the month), and I look forward to having a working bike lift soon......

Bars Leak makes a pint size bottle of jack oil /w seal swell in it .. available at any good auto parts store..
you should find it right next to the cheap bottle jacks ..
my Bro made a similar jack for me yrs ago.. when the ram failed.. i simply replaced the jack.. they are really inexpensive.. 10-12 dollars i think.. not much more..
just another option...

you should build a trebushet and take it down to the Sears parking lot and launch that thing through the store front. Then run through the hole left in the store front by the leaky bike lift dressed like a Gaul. With a shield on one arm, torch in hand, and a sword in the other. light every thing on fire that will burn and smash every thing else with the sword. then ride off on a new riding lawnmower.

Maybe bring a couple of mates with you for backup.
