I purchased partly restored Tiger in 2005. After a bit of hard work and a very steep learning curve this baby now runs as well as when it first left the Meriden plant in 1971. It'ss bagged me a couple of nice trophies since I've owned it and is one sweet ride. It now has my recently purchased 2006 America to keep it company in the shed.

That looks sweet. I hope to see her in the flesh one day. Love that colour.

Wow! I can see why you've got those trophies, John! It's a beaut, alright!

And speakin' of that color...it kind'a looks like one of my all-time favs on the BAs...Caspian Blue!

I'd have probably purchased that color BA if they would've had it in 2002(the first year of production) instead of my Cardinal Red.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Thanks StevieB, we'll have to arrange a viewing and ride one day. The music it plays out of it's Dunstall mufflers is not too dissimilar to the tune your Speedmaster pipes play except mine plays to the tune of 360 deg cycles rather than 270. Colour is Polychromatic Blue over Arctic White two pack with Gold pin striping that I did myself. The original factory finish should be Black pin-striping but I prefer the gold as a personal choice. The pic was taken heading west on the Bell's Line of Road just west of Bilpin NSW Australia and I just liked the back drop of the old Ampol sign and petrol bowser.

It's a great bike John, there's no denying that but your pics are equally as wonderful. You really do that bike justice with your camera work!!!!!

I had one of these John way back when. Purchased in good running order from a pom who was headed back to UK. Bike shop offered him bugger all so I got it for $900.00 if I remember right. Rode it to work every day and was a very reliable bike-always found the single carb models a lot easier to start compared to the Bonnies I owned. Great to see one in the pristine condition that yours is!

Thanks one and all for the lovely comments. I was playing with both my Triumphs this afternoon and thought it be a good idea to get them both out of their stables into some lovely Australian afternoon sunshine, line them up side by side and compare their differences to see how Triumph has evolved over the years. Hope you enjoy the following comparison pics?

Lookin good together there John. They both look so clean and shiny.
Looks like there is room there to fit my Speedy along side for a comparison shot as well.

Simply FANTASTIC!
Well done - such a rebuild project is something I'd love to 'take-on'! I've got my eyes open looking for a responable 1968 Mountin Cub [200 ccm]

That is a bee-yoo-tee-full bike. I'd buy a calendar of shots like these. Fair dinkum (and I'm a dang Yank)!!!

No apologies needed at all bigdoug. That Speed Twin looks gorgeous alongside the gigantic Rocket 3. The Speed Twin is my all-time favourite Triumph. I wonder what Edward Turner would think now if he saw a machine like the Rocket 3?
I was asked only just the other day why Triumph grabbed a BSA name for a bike in their Hinkley line-up?

They were one company. BSA had bought Triumph (I think) the rocket 3 was just a trident engine. So Triumph owned the name.
