What did you guys do? Me I fell asleep at about 11 again like I did last year. Thats ok, I never saw anything spectacular occur at midnight on new years any way. I have seen lots of drunk people do some suprising stuff on any given night though.
Oh well, I had some Irish whiskey (Knappogue Castle) and played table tennis. That was my first go with Irish whiskey. I like it quite alot it has a bold taste like scotch but you can tell there is no sherry cask in the equation.

WOW I just went to look at the bottle and get a glass and found I drank 3/4 of the bottle last night. No wonder I fell asleep.

I knew a girl from Ireland many years ago, and she was the one who introduced me to Irish whiskey She told me this joke one night: "Do you know why god invented Irish Whiskey?... To keep the Irish from conquering the world." Its a weakness of mine as well! 3/4 of a bottle though, and I wound not be able to see straight for a day. On the other hand, half a bottle works quite well.

Went with some of my co-workers to the Aloha Towers Marketplace (in Honolulu, HI). Had dinner at the Bikini Cantina, partied and watched the fire works at midnight. It was a good time, just me and several thousand friends.

1900-0030 hours: Judie and I had a great time at friend's party.

0031: Leaving the party in her Outback, we get a half block down the hill from our friend's house(I'm driving) and the car goes into a four-wheel skid(it snowed like a son-of-a-gun the last few days in Prescott and the roads are like an ice rink) and end up 180 degrees in the other dirrection and right into a snow drift.

0032-0040: Attempting to get the Outback back out of said snow drift, but with no luck.(all four wheels are just spinning.

0041-0048: Walking back up to friend house to borrow a shovel.(it took 7 friggin' minutes to walk back up the road maybe 200 feet 'cause I must've slipped and fallen on my frigin' keester at least three friggin' times!!!)

0049-0054: Have shovel AND friend and am returning to stuck Outback.(it takes less time slipping DOWN a road than it does UP, ya know...this accounts for the 2 less minute return to said Outback...oh, and btw, the wife stayed in the car)

0055-0110: Try a whole lot of different maneuvers to free the car but to no avail.

0111: A guy and his wife drive up in a Jeep CJ with tire chains on it, AND LUCKILY, they have a long length of chain.

0112-0118: Connecting chain between the two vehicles and pulling Outback back out of snowdrift.

0119: On our way for the (luckily) only 1 mile drive back home.(very, very, VERY slooooowly)

0128: Make it home.

And so, THAT'S what I DID last night, Chad!!!

(...any OTHER questions???)

Uh-huh. Sounds like a great way to bring in the new year, Dwight. So seriously, how many inches of snow are we talking about here? And you should have just road the shovel back down to your car and spare yourself a fall or two.

At the strike of midnight my neighbors next door fired a salvo of bottle rockets into the sky. No casualties resulted.

I went to bed shortly thereafter. It was a boring yet serene finish to 2010. 2011 promises to be better.

Sounds like in 2011 you should consider getting an upgrade to a Jeep, or at the least a set of tire chains.

WEll Dwight, at least you know the rest of the year will go at least as well and should be mostly better. It could hardly be worse. So its all up from here.

In what has become somewhat of an annual tradition, I took a bucket of warm water, large sponge & chlorox and thoroughly cleaned the bathroom. I do this whether it really needs it or not. This year I lost my head and also ran a bottle of liquid plumber down the drains.

Following a civilised bottle of Trout Slayer ale, I retired around 11 pm. I did awake at midnight to the reports of rifle & shot gun blasts about towne. Laying in bed I was thankfull for good health and the fact I installed kevlar shingles. Hey, this is Montana you know !!!!

Okay, so my memory's still working at least... well maybe not, because if I did get going with a 'date' ever again, I'm not sure I'd remember what to do. Hey, if I need any pointers I'll turn to you!!
