Ted Simon. He rode a tr6 around the world for 4 years.
Wrote the book Jupiter's Travels. the book that inspired Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman to do their ride and make the mini series. He lives in northren cal now and the local BMW-Triumph dealer had him drop by and give a presentation on his rides. It was a fun evening.
If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

Very cool, Joe! Yep, the man is certainly a legend when it comes to long distance motorcycle travel.
I know he's a hero to one of BA.com members who's "been around the block" more than a few times himself...our very own Thanassis[Bedouin].
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
