Hi all,
Got a bobbed fender and looking for a clean look for the light, almost like the thunderbird rear light.
Anyone any suggestions on a light and number plate set up that won't extend the rear fender and where I can get this.
Was going to put a side light & license plate on but as I use saddle bags now and again it would hide the plate and the light,
thanks G

Have you got a picture of the bobbed mudguard (fender)? This will give people an idea of what you are looking for.

Welcome! Many here have bobbed the rear fender and I'm sure some of them will chime in. As a start, here's a thread on the topic with pictures from one of our members. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...rt=all&vc=1

Thanks for that Mountain man,
Spent a wee bit of time in Rosland BC in the early 90’s trying to find those hairy Sasquatch on those bear cans of yours.
Already have the bobbed fender, a set of pull back T bars (width is 34'' the rise 6'' pull back 8'', 1 ¼ ) lying in the garage. Looking for some good ideas for a sleek rear light to finish it off, like the thunderbird light.
The problem we have hear in NZ is the market for triumph custom parts isn’t huge (maybe like Canada) and as a result we have to get most of the stuff imported from either the US or UK (some don’t ship), so the postage is a killer, and a bit tricky to return.
Would you believe I am trying to source a pair of chrome handlebar grips at the moment in NZ to fit my 1’ bars and I can’t get them off the shelf. Maybe I have to go to the Harley shop (oooogh)
Also looking to fit the speedo into the tank (spent a while reading all those posts here, looks like fun). Going to order the Acewelll 2856 with Tacho, as I think it will fit right (Dimensions: 64mm x 40mm and 70mm on the outside ring) and also you can plug a speedo cable or use magnets on it. but again as you guessed its gonna have to be ordered via the UK and a 2 week wait(and I want it now).
For the parts hassles I still wouldn’t swap the speedy though.

These can be utilized on a bobbed fender, good visibility and you can still have saddlebags:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHROME-LUCAS-STYLE-TAILLIGHT-MOTORCYCLES-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c18026d8dQQitemZ120661896589QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_3001wt_1156 They come in brushed raw aluminum too, I have this set up on a Speedmaster, looks good, my opinion. Sorry, not smart enough to post you a pic here, but I could email you some if you want.

Ha!! You were looking for the Sasquatch in the wrong place... he's more over towards Creston!! I live in Trail.
That Acewell you're about to order will go well in the console. I mounted one there and found I had to enlarge the hole just a little.
Be sure to stick around for all the great ideas and fun you'll find here. And as an added bonus, I can fill you in on some Sasquatch stories to keep you up at night!!!!

Hey Chuck, tell us a little more about those bars and lights. Modified stock lights? Do you have the wires and cables inside the bars? Where does one procur fine items like that to make their bike look so bad ******?

crazy, I spent a bit of time in Trail, then moved up to Rosland for the Ski season, but failed at being a ski bum (just not that good). Used to hitch on through to Nelson and to the hot pools.
Stunning part of the world and the beer was good.
I lived in a guys house called Darrel, who was the manager up at the cafe up on the mountain (not the main one). He had just bought the house and was his first season there, and I think they had just got subway sub, probably around 16 years ago. The local barber drove a harley.
I was there with my then girlfriend (she was a red headed Kiwi and I’m Scots so a pretty fiery relationship)and things were not going to plan, had ran out of money, so I left Canada after about 4 months and her and headed back to London to make some $$$.
Watched a few programs on Red Mountain since. Moved to NZ and got back into the skiing again, but haven’t improved any.

The turn signals are the tail lights I used a kuryakyn adapter thing I will find link tomorrow.
The lights them selves are chirs products the ones I used are duel filament ones I had to get a little inventive because the kit is for single filament bulbs. But the duel made things a lot brighter.
Stock and Chris product

Stock harness wires in too adapter then I drilled a small hole to fed the wires to the light makes it very clean. If I remember there is a gap on the bottom of the stock plate mount I could have fed the wires through but I found that after I drilled LOL. I also put on some license plate lights that are bolts for the plate too ( no pic sorry)

I had the rear fender bobbed this summer after a wreck. I went with bullet lights on either side of the fender that double as turn signals and brake lights.

cool, was thinking the turn signals were the brake lights in both of the posts as well. Don't think we can do that here in NZ though, which is a real pity as it looks the bomb.
Think I have it sorted, going for a sparto tail light, thanks for all the help.
Just need to pay a visit the British customs for a set of cables for my new t bars (32",6" rise,8" pull back) , tried to fit them the other day but cables just to small. Think they made them with the america measurements. Set of ISO pegs and I'm all done.
Cheers Mountain man, will look ya up if I'm ever back there again.
