Anybody seen THIS yet? I am seriously thinking about attending the Georgia rally so am putting together a little list of items I think I need for the long haul. Of course the cell phone and credit card are the BIG number one for the tool kit I was thinking of things to address tire issues. I have decided against patch kits and such as I still haven't figured out a safe way to get the weight of either end of the bike to patch a tube, maybe you guys could enlighten me. I was thinking of just getting some "Slime" and a small pump or some of that Fix a Flat stuff when I came across this little gizmo. Definitely seems small enough and powerful enough plus an added bonus is that since I already have the pigtail on my bike for the battery tender it would be a very simple plug and play item. Thoughts? I think my main concern on roadside probs is tire related.... I figure if there is anything along the lines of a mechanical failure I am more than likely screwed and the cell phone will be applied to said prob. Steve

That little pump is pretty cool. On my last trip I carried some tire plugs(no tubes on a speedy) and a can of fix-a-flat, maybe its not ideal but thats why I also carry a cellphone and a credit card.
Planning on Georgia? - If you roll with Keith and I, then we can split up the tool list.

That's pretty cool and it's a good idea.
I carry an Airman Sparrow compressor AND a can of Fix-A-Flat. I prefer not to be stuck on the side of the road with a flat.
Speaking about Fix-A-Flat, make sure you get one with the tube. You'll have a helluva time getting the one with just the nozzle to work!

Phil, did you buy from Adventurer's Workshop? If so what was the connection shipped with the Airman Sparrow?

Phil, will the fix-a-flat temporarily repair a tube? After seeing Steve's post, I've been thinking about tire security on my trip to Daytona this year. I love the Slime small pump as it would be easy to pack, etc. BUT, you still have to be able to stop an air leak from a nail or whatever. If the stuff works, can you buy the right one anywhere?

So, the one you purchased came with a 12V car plug? Some sites advocate alligator clips (so the inflator pump can be used on anyone's bike), other sites sell the unit with BMW male plug (no adaptor needed). But for the price, I'll use my bmw adaptor with the 12V car plug. Got to for the phone charger anyway!

Yeah, from experience I can tell you that it will work on a tube! Follow the instructions, then get to a petrol (gas) station to top up the pressure before you go any great distance/speed. I had a repaired tube up to 55mph for about 40 miles after picking up a nail, and had no problems.
But remember to get the tube changed as soon as possible.

I noticed it has "Slime" printed on the side. I've used Slime products to plug leaks on Bobcats and John Deere back-hoes. May have to get one of these.

I got the one with the regular 12v adaptor so I can use it elsewhere.
