Quote: I can bring a stack of BA.com patches to the event. Send me a PM so I can get an idea of how many to bring. Price is still $5 but it'll save you a few cents on postage.
Good idea!
I'm thinkin' maybe bring 35 of 'em or so.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
Quote: Hey Dwight, how's your internet connection in Prescott? Broadband or dial-up? Wifi?
Wifi, John.
(...yep, we got all them there modern conveniences 'round these here parts, nowadays!)
I'd like to be able to upload photos (and maybe video) somewhat realtime from your place. I'll bring my point-and-shoot just in case (it does video too) but I'm hoping Zdenko brings his fancy new HD video camera.
I originally only wanted to bring my Ipad but I cant find an easy way to upload large video files so I decided to just bring the Mac. Even though the Ipad fits nicely on my tank bag.

No. You need your cell phone too.
Flask? Oh yeah that fits in the tank bag. A fifth is for saddlebags.
A literal cross country trip: Atlantic to Pacific. Or, 'From Sea to Shining Sea'.

Depends what you bring with the smokes... flint and steel, matches, or butane lighter?

I dunno about that GPS thingey. That might be a little much.
What will be happening at the SWTF? Is it a few members from this site having a get-together or is it more like sturgis? I live in Fresno, Ca. and the wife and I can make it there in a days ride. Can anyone show up? Are most people camping or moteling? How many people will be there? From what I read it seems like about 30 members. Can someone please enlighten this rookie.
Well, Dwight is the Ramrod, he usually kinda comes up with a plan the closer we get to the time to ride. Been twice and each time was different, he's already posted the time and place, on this thread. Stay tuned if your interested for a good time of socializing with fellow Triumph riders.

Some good questions there, Bart.
As bigbill said, the Southwest Triumph Fest is more, as your first idea above noted, "members from this site having a get-together".
Regarding what will be happening over the weekend...the main Saturday ride will consist of a jaunt over a couple of mountains, first from Prescott to the old hillside mining town and now artist colony of Jerome AZ...and then on to one of the most spectacular spots in all America, the town of Sedona AZ which is surrounded by red rock monoliths...and then up through Oak Creek Canyon from there to Flagstaff...and then back down on Lake Mary Road to Camp Verde...and then back to Prescott. In all, a little over a 200 mile ride.
As it presently stands, it appears there will be about 30 or so folks showing up this year from all parts of the country. Some will be camping out in my and my wife's(Judie) home, and some will be staying in local motels.
And yep, it would be a pleasure to have you and your wife join us here for this year's SWTF!!!

Supa fine run and a max tune as well. Makes me want to run out and get a camera for my rides so when I can no longer swoop and have to move into a Tri-glide, I can rewind and remember.
Pacific Blue/White 2009 America in the TX Hill Country
Not all that glitters is gold. Tolkien. Hmm Must've seen the chrome on my TA coming down the road.
Yep moe, and what's even cooler is that all those tar snakes you see in that video are pretty much gone 'cause they resurfaced that road a little over a year ago.
